Rathsallagh Golf Club
Finally played Rathsallagh this morning. Sadly it's just another average overrated Parkland Course. The 1st is in no way a par 5. Too short. The hill up to the 2nd Tee box is a joke. 2nd another average hole par 4. I couldn't believe the amount of cars driving right through parts of the Golf course. Another joke. 3rd par 4 too small. 4th par 3, again too short. 5th average. 6th is a nice par 5. Just watch out for the cars passing by. 7th lovely par 3 over water. 8th too short. Drive and a wedge in. 9th uphill. Dog leg from right to left, average. 10th too short but a nice hole. 11th par 5, very average too short. 12th par 4. Again too short, drive and a wedge. 13th par 3... 113 yards seriously??? 14th and 15 too short, very average. Again watch out for the cars. 17th nice par 3. Nothing spectacular. 18th finishing hole uphill again watch out for the cars. A bit of a joke in all honesty. Shot a 91. Could and probably should of been lower. Putting was on form today.
An hour from Dublin. I definitely won't be back. Not worth it.
But I would like to thank Ted Viera and Niall for looking after me. Very friendly and professional. Another course off my bucket list.
Tulfarris in the new year. Cheers
Rescheduled
Just wanted to inform GolfNow that Rathsallagh Golf Club contacted me to reschedule my Round for next Sunday December 1st at 11am. Niall in the Pro Shop is an absolute gentleman and very professional. Top class staff, a pleasure to deal with. Roll on next Sunday December 1st. Thanks. Hopefully the weather will be dry.
Tee Time cancellation
I received a polite and curtious phone call from Niall in the Pro Shop in Rathsallagh Golf club. Niall rang me at 8:30am this morning to inform me the Golf course was closed due to overnight rain etc. I will now expect a full refund of €31.99 as credit back into my GolfNow account.
I'll play at a later date... pity
Excellent Course - Worth the hour drive from Dublin
Excellent greens and fairways
Bunkers in good condition bar the odd one with stones
Good pace of play
Nice pro shop and staff
Best Course to date
Played here yesterday, fantastic course in unbelievable condition considering the time of year, greens still very quick and smooth. Highly reccomend anyone looking for a challenging but fair course, this is very high up
A good introduction to golf in Ireland
This was our first game in Ireland so we were a tad rusty. The golf shop staff was fantastic as we had to change times and he was really accommodating. We come from Australia so it took a while to adjust to the longer grass on and off the fairway. I did enjoy the greens which were slow but relatively easy. The course itself is picturesque and interesting.
A hidden gem
I have not played this course for 14 years but I won’t wait that long again. It’s a hidden gem 👍👍
Lovely course, greens were in fantastic condition the overall condition of the course was great. Definitely will come back
Beautiful course!
Well designed course. The map on my garmin watch wasn’t updated but it is still easy to navigate by the map. Every hole has a graphic sign showing how the hole looks like which is very easy to play.
The food and drink are nice too! Love the experience there. Thank you.
