August Heat
Pace was a bit slow, but all in all, had a great time. It was hot, but that's August on the Gulf Coast. Greens are great except fot the scuff marks, spike marks from players in front of you. Nothing one can do about that except tamp them down before you putt. Everything is nice and green, no weeds. In fact, they sprayed for some of the Poanna grasses that was near some of the tees boxes and you can notice it is dieing off as intended. They are doing a great job on weed controll and keeping the course nice and plush.
Great city course
Most people complain about greens and speed, but most were just fine and the ones that weren't were still fine enough.
Great layout. Just a fun course all around. Enjoyed it more than the pricey Kelly Plantation, Regatta etc courses. Actually played twice more that week.
Tried of overpriced Golf on the coast
Good coastal Golf.Vista"s not pleasing but straight basic golf layout without the landscaping. Therefore you get a round in and have enough money leftover to take your honey out to a nice seafood restaurant.
5 Hour round
Yes, it took 5 hours to play. Also had a rain delay on the 13th hole included. Played the Pines course, but seems to pop up on the Oaks. Everything is nice and green. Rough is getting slightly thicker, but they seem to stop mowing the rough this time of year. It's a fun course to play. I joined up with a 3-some, and we were behing a 5-some.
I’ve played this course before, and I enjoy the course. This time however the pace of play was so slow, that I couldn’t continue with the second nine. When I asked if I could get a rain check for the second nine because of the slow pace of play, I was refused. It took three hours to play the first nine holes. Unacceptable!
August Heat
Yes it was hot, but actually not as humid as it could of been. Anyway, everthing is very green and plush. The greens were actually quite faster than when I played two weeks ago. The grass tends to go through a slow growing period in August. I've noticed the same with my yard at home, and its getting watered 5 days a week. Thus the greens were at a faster speed and best part is no weeds. They really have that under control and have had for the past 3 or more years.
Good course for the money
Course is in great shape. Only downside is the greens seem to be cut higher so the ball moves slow and it’s hard to get a read.
shag carpet greens.
Terrible putting on shag carpet non-mowed greens. Other than that, a great course. Wide open and hard to loose a stray golfball under trees. Allows for quicker play.
Green as could be
The course is Green and plush. No weeds on the greens, just a bit slower than ususal. They are cutting them a few mm thicker due to the heat. Had 2 rain showers but didn't last but 15 minutes or so. Ultimately finished all 18 holes.
Rain, Rain go away
Got rained out on the 8th hole, but its Florida. They ended up closing the course. The course is in excellent condition. Really green with all the rain we've been having lately.
