Fun course.
Wide fairways, tree lined, designed for fair play without tricks. Greens were a little bumpy, bit may just have been the time of year. I really enjoyed it.
Pine course
course was in pretty good condition. Enjoyed playing, grass in turning green.
Nice Course
This is a very nice course. Since we played in February, the fairways lack a lot of grass, but for a city course it is cared for quite well. There are a few holes that are very challenging that require you to navigate water. If you don't position your approach shot correctly the ball rolls right into the creek. There are a number of holes that make it possible to par or bogey, if you are on your game.
About What I Expected
An interesting layout with average condition tees, fairways and greens. Pace of play was good. Practice facilities were good. This municipal course could use some TLC; however, at a $24 GolfNow Hot Deal price, it was a good value.
Needs a pro shop
The course was in good condition. Greens were fast as to be expected. Some par fours were a little long for an 80 year old but next time I will play from the nearer tees.. Can't wait until next time.
Great Day
My wife and I played yesterday. Great value, nice layout, and friendly,helpful staff.
We’ll be back several times this winter.
I'll be back when the weather's warmer
Though really cold and windy the day I played, the course was easy to warm up to with its player friendly openness. As a first time player on the course, one well appreciated feature was the tips for playing each hole on the hole layout signs. These corresponded to the course information booklet provided by the very helpful staff who also gave a brief overview of all the possible course navigation issues facing a newcomer. I'll definitely come back to play this course the next time I vacation in the Destin area.
Cool but Good
Played the golf course as a single with temps of 40F to 48F and little wind which being a Canuck was not a real problem for me. Shot 78 from the whites and made lots of putts and close chips because I was sufficiently warm and relaxed since not playing since early November in Ottawa. Staff were friendly including the grounds guys who were all out there working in the cold for them no doubt. Winter conditions on the course but still good overall.
Must play
Great layout, most holes give you enough room off the tee to miss your tee shot a little and still be ok. The sand traps are well maintained. The greens are nice.
Magnificent
The Course is in beautiful shape. The greens were very fast, probably a 9 or 10 on the stimpmeter. This is the best shape I believe I have ever seen the greens in about 35 years. Kudos to the superintendent and greens staff!!
