Pines in Good Shape
Course In much better condition than last played
Greens were great.
Course was in great shape. Greens were fast. Fairways were green and lush. No problems.
Several golfers started around same time and slowed play.
Ft Walton Pines
Greens are still not up to par
Try it, You will enjoy
Great value. Walkable, great for seniors & beginners alike.
Fun Golf Course:
FWB's the Pines can be challenging but it is a fun course to play.
Nice Public Course
Rated condition as average because though the greens had dead spots (some quite large) and they had just been punched (a necessity), the fairways were in very good condition. Of course I was warned about the greens prior to paying for my round so I can't complain. I don't play here often and there are 2 courses here (Pines and Oaks) so I have always enjoyed my rounds here. I played as a single and my round took just over 2 hrs.
Good muni course on the rebound.
MUCH improved from a few months ago. Greens getting back in shape with a few bare spots. Fairways in good shape. I'd written this course off, but now will play again. Good value, great staff.
Great Value
We got an excellent deal through Golf Now for a 12:00 tee time. As you may expect, not very crowded on a hot afternoon, but had a good time. Played the Pines course as a twosome in just over 4 hours. Course conditions were very good with the exception of the greens. Some were a bit spotty and they had also been recently top dressed, so quite a bit of sand. But all in all, a great value for our discounted rate.
FWB Pines
Greens are in bad shape. There must have been a fungus among us...... Lots of bare patches.
Short and open.
Greens were in poor shape, they were obviously having problems keeping them alive. Too many other courses to choose from for the same price.
Needs New Greens
Most of the greens were awful. Only 2 didn't have significant patches of dirt (no grass) all over the green.
Bad playing conditions
The course was experiencing some "issues" with the greens and fairways. Hopefully the grass in the fairways and Bermuda on the greens come in better later in the summer, but unfortunately, the conditions were some of the worst I've seen. The greens literally were like dirt in large spots. Preceding the round, I was warned by the staff of the issue. This was very nice of them to do. But, I've played other courses around the area and they are not experiencing the same difficulty with the under average temperature weather. Staff was nice, club house was nice. Course practice area was one of the best I've seen. But, turf conditions need to improve drastically in the next few months.
Fun Course
My Son and I have played the Oaks before and it was first time playing it's sister course the Pines. Overall we had fun. The staff were very nice. The weather was excellent. The greens were not in very good condition but it is early spring.
We will definitely go back in the future.
No grass!!!
Virtually no grass on the fairways or greens, basically playing off of bare dirt.
Fun course to play
Always like playing the two courses at Fort Walton . The Pine's greens were in poor shape as well as the Oaks this time of year ,but still one of my favorites .Price is little high if you don't get tee time on Golf Now. Play it if you have a middle handicap.
Good Potential
Third February in a row we have come to play these two courses and all three years the same.....no overseed on greens or fairways! Very sparse and not enjoyable, will skip next year unless we hear of changes.
Not up to par as last year
Course wasn't in very good condition. Will not go back.
course was enjoyable
fairways were great/ tee boxes in great shape/ greens needed some help but we remembered it was off season. they were playable just not up good play
