Good pace
Staff were friendly and cooperative. Played the white tees and it was quite short but it is nice to win sometimes.
Nice set of three 9's in Sun Lakes Chandler.
I have played Oakwood quite a bit. The 3 nines each have their own distinct feel. The layouts are a solid mix of risk/ reward. There are a number of water holes on the course, which is pretty well placed in the layout. The conditions are always pretty good. The greens are pretty consistent for speed and break. In the winter, pulic tee times are only available on Saturday and Sunday. Around April it will change back to daily access. The price for the course is always among the more reasonable in the East Valley. The drink cart is always around and the prices are really reasonable. One of my favorite all around courses for playaability and value.
Relatively easy course
Not bad. Course was in good shape, layout was rather pedestrian, Short, 6600 from tips.
This course has some nice long par 4s, three great nines.
Course was in very good condition, greens were in great condition. Staff could not be better. Also price was right.
Great course and in good shape
Great course that was longer than expected. Only negative was condition of sand traps.
Poor mans Ocotillo!
Nice course for the price if you can get it as a hot deal. I call it the poor mans ocotillo. Very playable and enjoyable. A nice mix of medium to short par 4's and 5's. Nice hidden easy valley gem.
A nice scenic layout.
The course is still in over seeding transition, but well advanced and in good condition. The fairways were in very good condition as were the greens. The greens are a bit slow due to the over seeding transition. This course offers a nice challenge for the above average senior golfer.
Solid Course, Good Variety of Holes, Good Shape
Lakes and Palms 9's. Course was in very good condition, pre-overseed. Fairways and greens very playable, rough was thick and lush, tougher than normal to get out of and sometimes difficult to locate the ball. Not many people out that afternoon, so moved around quickly.
Fun par 3's
The course is short but in good shape. Greens are nice and the par 3's make the course a lot of fun to play. A lot of seniors and ladies play so the pace of play can be pretty slow at times.
This course offers fun and challenging holes.
I enjoyed this course, because it offers just enough difficulty to challenge even the best golfers. I also, like the fact that it offers 27 available holes.
Good Value
Staff is always friendly and helpful at Oakwood. The course was in decent shape, but it has been in better shape. Got an early afternoon tee time on a Sunday afternoon and the pace of play was excellent. I've played here several times and will be back.
