Corte Bella Golf Club
About
The course at Corte Bella Golf Club was done in a desert style but avoids the target greens and forced carries that are at some desert courses in the area. It has a classic layout on a beautiful terrain of ficus, Italian cypress, and oleander, creating a scenic ambiance. The designer, Greg Nash, kept traditions of classical golf architecture in mind and made a course that champions the strategic player. Both the immaculately manicured greens and the wide fairways are well protected by bunkers on this course, making accuracy on the approach shot a priority. Water hazards come into play on three holes at Corte Bella Golf Club.

Great conditions
There were no marshals to keep up the pace but the greens were in perfect shape and the fairways were in decent shape but a little soft. Overall it was worth it to play the course
Course has alot of traps
Fairways were in very good condition. Greens were fairly fast, but true. Rough was not over seeded, therefore not as good as several years ago when Troon managed it. Overall a great experience.
Great course
Course has generous fairways, large sand traps and large greens with lots of humps and difficult pin placements
Great course
Greens in excellent shape-be careful, very fast but true. fairways in very good shape after re-seeding. Traps good but not 100% consistent in terms of sand quality/depth.
corte bella
nice private course. not killer hard but certainly challenging for the average golfer. fairways were a little shaggy since course just coming out of over seed so we will have to play it again to judge true difficulty.
Great course
Nice greens always consistent. Well maintained. Always a pleasure playing there. Great practice facility.
Corte Bella not Portabella
First time at this course. It was beautiful and both fairways and greens were in excellent condidtion. Cart path only regulations were not divulges when reservations made and made for a strenuous day.
Glad I Found Corte Bella
Really enjoyed this course. Not even a problem that they were only a few days out of overseed. Nice staff in both golf shop and outside.
Great Staff and Very Nice Course
Pro lent my buddy his clubs...rentals had been stolen. Got the low down on the course from members and rangers. Driving range was excellent...course was a little shaggy due to overseeding. But layout was great, speed of play excellent, and over course grooming was very good. Both of us quite liked the course.
Don't join-waste of money
Course conditions from June 1st until mid Sept. were horrible.
horrible. Bare spots on the fairways and the greens.
Complained to the management and they told me I could resign if I did not like it. I spoke to the owner Shelby Futch and he could have cared less. The manager told told me the Scottsdale Group does not have the funds to maintain the course the way it should be maintained.
don't waste your money on this membership, go to Briarwood it is a better course, well maintained and the restaurants are far superior to Corte Bella.
An undiscovered delight
The layout and flow of this course is delighful. We played on th e last day before overseeding, so the course had been prepped, but in a way that did not disrupt play. Fairways are generous, but not too easy and the greens provide a challenge commensurate with the degree of difficulty of the hole. Tough hole, easier green,,,easier hoel, tougher green. Staff is very helpful and friendly, the range is above average and the speed of the putting green matches the speed found on the course. As with all the bunkers in Phoenix, these could use some help, but they are average for the city. I would wholeheartedly recommend this course...but SHHHH! keep that to yourself so play stays under 4 hours.
Great experience
Staff was great. Rough was long and there were signs of aeration on the greens but they rolled well. Generous off the tee. Approach shots require some skill as do the greens. I would definitely play their again.
Super fast greens
Excellent course for Intermediate and better handicaps. Have never played a course with so many traps and huge traps at that. That being said traps were well placed, maintained and the course was in super shape. This course is a nice alternative to what you're used to playing in Sun City. Find an internet special and treat yourself to some great golf.
Nice country club course
Course in good shape with very fast and true greens which I prefer. Very busy on date of play, pace was slow due to large number of sand bunkers and tough pin placements that day. Would recommend playing at least once. Customer service was top notch as should be expected at any country club.
Course was in great shape.
The course and greens were in good shape. I would play this course again.
Not worth the effort
While the course was in over all good condition considering the amount of recent rain fall, we were disappointed in the experience playing the course. We showed up early to warm up on the range and were approached by the starter Dion. He said we could tee of any time between now and 11:10AM which was our tee time. We had warmed up sufficiently but since we were a twosome I asked how long it had been since the last group teed off and he told me that they were already on the first green. What he didn't say was that twosome ahead of us was right behind a slow playing threesome. So much to our dismay we were waiting to tee off every hole after the 1st hole. Had he actually checked like he said he did he would have waited to tell us to tee off. Instead we had to sit and wait between 5-15 minutes to tee off on every hole after the first one. The 2nd issue we had was when we walked into the club house after the first 9 to get something to eat and try to put some space between us and the groups in front of us, there was nothing like candy bars or fruit that we could have bought and while we looked around the bar staff just looked at us and said nothing. No GPS on your carts is a big draw back.
excellent
Well designed and suited for mid handicapers. Just long enough for low handicapers.
Stalked by the Ranger
This was an example of how one poor employee can ruin an entire experience. The course ranger literally "stalked" us for 4-5 holes and we were playing ahead of pace. This employee is known for his behavior. Beware!
2nd week of August 2014
Tremendous value. This is a chance to play a premier course while the snowbirds are out of town. Never saw anyone in front of or behind us.
Great Course
Holy sand, Batman! Great course that provided just enough of a challenge. Back 9 has more sand in play and felt more like target golf. Many risk vs. reward shots here. Staff VERY friendly and hospitable, from the young man who took our clubs in the parking lot, to the worker who served our hot dog lunches, which were plump and scrumptious. (the hot dog, not the worker). Only down side was the aerification plugs, which would have been nice to know about in advance. Other than that, the cold towels at the turn, ice for players readily available...all made for a great afternoon!
