Starr Pass - RoadRunner #9 Photo submitted by Mark7630854 on 10/08/2012
Beautiful day
We played the coyote and roadrunner courses. They are both in beautiful shape and fun to play. Carol on the treat truck was great. The golf shop was lovely. Only challenge was the restaurant wasn’t open for breakfast ahead of time.
Coyote Course New Favorite
We played Coyote Course and Roadrunner course yesterday. Check-in was easy and frinedly. The golf carts were clean and well maintained. The course itself was just beautiful. Pace of play was good. This is one of the most beautiful courses that we play. Roadrunner has several holes that are difficult for me to carry so I just move my ball to the front of my green and usually make it over. Having said that, I play for FUN and don't take things too seriously. You will enjoy.
It’s a Starr
Great course. Challenging , Some blind tee shots. Will play it again soon
Good course for all type golfers.
Good course for all level golfers to challenge yourselves. Course is in nice shape, pace of play is pretty good, and the scenery is great.
Mixed feelings
First time playing it this time of year;. Usually down for vacation in March when conditions then are much better. Still lots of damage from the summer heat??. Not sure if this is the reason. Expected higher quality based on many years of coming down to play. Still a wonderful course to play with the best vistas of any course around Tucson.
Nice place to spend a day golfing
Coyote 9 was in perfect shape for time of year.
Roadrunner was a bit of a disappointment though.
Would still come back at some point.
Great course, greens a touch slow.pace of play good on front 9 slow on the back.
Great course, too moist!!
I really enjoy this course, but they have to figure out how too take away the moist and sloppy areas.
Greens are the largest issue! They are so moist that balls are plugging and you can see the foot prints from golfers. The maintenance equipment are leaving deep tracks when the greens are being mowed.
With some dryer weather in sight, the course conditions should improve!!
Wonderful time and views!
I had an opportunity to play this course at around $80. This is about $40 less than what a normal teatime cost for this course. When I arrived, I was greeted very nicely from the gentleman in the pro shop. He pointed me to the carts as well as to the range. They are set my card outside with my last name on it. I thought that was a pretty cool touch. The layout and views of this golf course are absolutely gorgeous. At one point, I turned around and I could see the entire city of Tucson with the backdrop of Mount Lemmon. I love the elevated teas, heading up to Greene, heading down to a green, and the different challenges of a not so flat surface even in the fairway. The only negative that I can think of for this place is it the greens were not in the greatest of shape. Even after all of the rain that we’ve had this summer, I would’ve thought that the greens would’ve been immaculate. There is no way I would pay $120 for a round of golf with greens that we had patches, poorly mowed bald spots, and brown patch in areas. Everything else was wonderful. I will definitely come back and enjoy another round.
Challenging course
The course was in great shape, but you’ll want to be hitting it straight. Not a lot of room for errant shots.
