Great for Twilight Golf
We had a great time playing Course #2. There were no crowds, The price was fair and we were able to get all 18 in
Enjoying. Golf with strangers
Teeing off with golfers you don't know is enjoyable, keeping up with them is a chalange by itself .My thought of play was to shoot under a 100which I did ,and my irons were much better in getting the ball where I had to go.This day was fun and enjoyable playing with these golfers.
Great conditions
Round was pretty quick and the course was well maintained today. Greens were receptive and rough was recently mowed so wasn't overly difficult.
Back 9 slower pace of play
We were the second group of at 5:30 am a twosome was in front of us. We made it to hole number 7 at 6:35 and this is where we ran into problems. Apparently they have back 12 and 9 holes. When we arrived at hole number 7 a foursome was on the green and they were walking. They ended up slowing the whole round down. We couldn’t play through because there were more groups ahead of them. I will not play this course again unless I really need to.
Car Parking on the Course
There were Cars parked on the Course as there was an Event going on at the Rose Bowl. You cannot sell a Course on Golf Now ..when an event is going on. Just a bad experience. Never again .
Thanks
fun play
I had a lot of fun playing golf. The course was good and the greens were in very good condition, so I had a good round.
Under maintenance
Playing course 3 which is there combo of course 1&2. Still good and in good condition. Marshal needs to be on hole 1 but all in all can’t complain.
Temporary Greens
I was very disappointed to see two temporary holes on a weekend when I am paying full price for a round. There was no notification when I booked. It ended up being a par 68 instead of par 70..
Could be better
First hole was 1/2 length due to big puddle of water but no word from the clubhouse at all. Then they sell back 12 tee times? So be prepared for your round to slow at the 7th hole and oh yeah they also have back 9 tee times so even more people to wait behind. Lastly clubhouse couldn’t even adjust the tee time to walking because “they hate golf now and wish no one used it”. Course is good experience is rough.
No grace period
Had my tee time booked at 810am, not only did I get a 5 min grace period the group I was paired with went out at 8am and I had to skip the first hole and meet them on 2nd tee. Yea I was barely late, but I just didn’t like that I missed out on first hole
Controllables = Controlled
The only real knock on this place for me is the pace of play. There’s not really anything they can do about it, either. They don’t allow fivesomes and the carts notify players who are playing slowly. There are just a ton of people wanting to play there and lots of new players. If you’re bugged by slow play, don’t play here. The fairways and greens are in solid shape, and the layout is actually a bit challenging and has some nice tough 4s and 3s with a few risk-reward 5s. Amenities are solid. Totally recommend playing here on a hot deal (I only play here on hot deals), although the $50 or so they charge for normal twilight times is slightly steep.
Ambassador harassment
Check in was fine in the pro shop. The “gentleman” with a badge at the tee box of #2 was way over the line trying to ask me about “a score to shoot like bowling is 300…what’s the perfect number in golf?” I politely tried to explain that the two sports aren’t very comparable and then went about getting ready to play. He didn’t drop it. Kept badgering me for an answer. The other people I had just paired up with didn’t know how to react and I moved my cart up and said “have a nice day sir” and drove forward to focus on golf and not this ridiculous scenario that just happened. I was just trying to enjoy leaving work early to play a few holes and it was ruined before it started.
