Brookside Golf Club - C.W. Koiner Course

Rose bowl has events all the time and use this golf course as the parking lot so the grass is ruined and there are lines of dirt path all over the course. I play here bc it’s close to me otherwise I wouldn’t recommend anyone playing at this course. The course layout and topography is rather flat and uninteresting.

This is a relatively flat and straight course. The condition of the fairway is pretty bad because there is a lot of dirt path due to that whenever there are events at the Rose Bowl it would use the golf course as its additional parking lot.

Greens generally in good shape. The rest of the course is horrendous. A shame. The entire Rose Bowl complex is a mismanaged under invested poorly positioned mess.

Only thing positive about this course were the greens. They were in good shape, even though they were kind of long they still rolled fairly well and weren’t totally trashed with un-repaired divots.

Otherwise, I have nothing good to say about the course. The fairways were absolute trash dirt much of the time I did find out from some locals that they use the course for parking lots for the Rose Bowl. So no wonder fairways are terrible. Don’t waste your money I I would say But I’m from out of town and used to much better courses for $86.

Overall, course has some interesting holes and the greens are in pretty decent shape. However, the fairways are a bit horrendous. They need to be reseeded as there's a lot of holes where there are just dirt patches in the middle of the fairway.

Currently the course conditions are ROUGH. Between ripping up the fairways and the atrocious conditions all around, Brookside needs a little bit to get into better shape.

The fairways that weren’t getting ripped up were patchy at best.

The rough around the greens wasn’t typical rough conditions… a lot of weed patches around the greens.

Typically Brookside is in good to great conditions but this was some of the worst I’ve seen the course in a LONG time.

It wasn’t even this bad after they had festivals take over the golf course earlier this year.

I recommend waiting a couple weeks… if not a month in hopes of the course recovering.

Fairways and other areas are suffering from the hot summer with lack of watering, many many dry patchy tight lies in areas that should be well groomed.

Otherwise running smoothly. Love this course.

Cart GPS alarms around greens and tee boxes are too sensitive, alarmed for wayyy too long after we backed out of area. Had to tee off and putt once through the constant alarms, I felt bad for our other tee time players. The screen cleared and said we were good, but the alarm wouldn’t stop til almost 4 minutes later.

This once proud course has fallen far and hard. No warning about the conditions, no attempt to make local lift clean and place rule or otherwise address the problem. Literally unplayable. Left after six holes (two hours in, fwiw). I used to love these courses. Sad to see it become so busted and unloved

When Brookside is in good shape, it's a great track. Unfortunately, the conditions are horrible right now. Fairways are bare and it only gets worse from there. Not sure if they're on a limited water supply from the fires, but it's in tough shape right now.

The greens were the one bright spot. They were in great shape and rolled really well.

I have played golf at Brookside many times over several years and I have enjoyed the course layout each time. However, despite the greens, the course conditions of Koiner were terrible in comparison to the experiences I have had before and the value I paid monetarily to play. I found my ball in brown dirt patches on just about each fairway. I hope course management sees this review and acknowledges the this feedback from a customer who appreciates his previous experiences at Brookside. Thank you.

Wow, they really let this course go over the last few months….horrible conditions. Dirt fairways. Sad what they’ve done…..total and complete incompetence related to course maintenance. On its way to becoming unplayable.

It’s been a since I last played here but this was the worst condition I’ve ever seen it. Even the cow pastures have more grass in the so called fairways.

Slowest play probably from the terrible conditions and so needless to say wouldn’t be going back anytime soon. Suffered through 9 holes and left wished for a refund but AM. Golf don’t care about patrons like that.

This course used to be spectacular, unfortunately it’s become a parking lot and it’s in deplorable condition. I wouldn’t waste my money again.
