Brookside Golf Club - C.W. Koiner Course

Sad that this once beautiful course is in such bad shape due to all the concerts and events.

A revenue generating powerhouse that is in really poopy condition. Fairways dead, tees closed off, but hey! They got fancy new carts. Give me a break. Course is parking lot for the Rose Bowl. Idiotic.

This course is used for a parking lot for the Rose Bowl. Most fairways are dead and a ton of tees are off limits because they are trying to grow grass. Awful. Just awful.

Greens need to be rolled. Super soft but good. Tees were ok. EVERY FAIRWAY IS D.S. I’ll leave it up to you to figure out what D.S. means - but it’s not good. And it does actually means if negative stars were possible it would get 10. The parking situation for festivals and the rose bowl is so stupid. Paid $5 for a bottle of water, paid $5 for a first tee bar. The new carts are the only good thing.

For $60 it’s a good choice. The fairways were patchy but the greens were in good shape. Challenging enough for 12 handicaper. Pace of play not bad 4 1/4 hr round. It’s an oldie but goodie. I’ve played much worse places at a higher price.

*driving range/warm up area - closed

*layout - confusing and congested

*fairways - spotted, burnt

*greens - inconsistent- most very fast

*tee boxes - chunky, crowned, sloped and poorly maintained

Along the sides of several holes and a significant portion of the grounds were areas covered with equipment, container boxes, corrals and huge portions of ground under repair. Restrooms and conveniences/drinks were very few and far between due to the newly formed, crisscrossing layout.

I was sorely disappointed with this course overall.

We thought we would play Brookside for a change up from our regular courses. Since there is some sort of concerts going on this weekend , the couse was not in its proper layout. We actually started on Hole #11 and then we followed the signs for the next hole

What a night mere. People working all over the place for the concerts., parking lines on a lot of the fairways. Restrooms were closed. Driving range was closed, You will not see me there when a concert is going on in the next few days. Too many distractions !!!!! Brookside did not advise us of the modification to the course but still took our $$$ Construction going on when arriving and miles of construction be completed on our way out

I hope Brookside will review this review and off er us something for in compensation ????

course #3 layout was good, grasses need more water. so need more maintenance work.

Course is partially closed from music festival so it’s a combo of holes from both courses, fairways are either terrible or being punched, greens slow

I’ve been playing course one and two since I was a kid. To come back today and see what’s happened to the course conditions and the concert situation they’ve got going is saddening. Whoever is running the show at Brookside clearly doesn’t care about the golfers anymore.

It was a horrible experience… The golf carts do not have windshields on them. It was a very misty day almost like a drizzle and everything got soaking wet, especially us while driving… A simple golf cart windshield would have protected us and we would’ve stayed longer than 9 holes. We paid for a full 18 round.

Missed and drizzle were not in the weather forecast.

Book the #1 course like I always do when visiting LA. Did not find out it’s getting ready for a month long concert event till I received the confirmation email. The course is setup in #3 configuration. No where does it say so on the booking page prior to confirmation. Bait and switched.

pace is superb. playing it just like in a private course.
