Pasadena Perfect
I've been playing Brookside for many Years. Currently it's in the Best Shape Ever.
Good Course and a good Deal
Get there MEGA early if you want to use the range, there was a big line, waited for almost 30min to get a spot. I think I got lucky because I didn't wait at a single tee box, and there wasn't a soul behind us either. The only course I've played in LA that had perfect fairways and actual rough, like actual thick grass that was maintained.
Wonderful Experience on course #1
Played the full round in 4 hours exactly. Love how there wasn't a wait on a tee box until hole 17.
Greens had been punched recently but have already started filling in well to where it was not detrimental to the course. Overall a wonderful experience and look forward to coming back.
Everything is wrong with this place
Bad service, changed my tee time and they charged me twice, no mention of greens being aerated anywhere, expensive food, slow pace…you name it. One of the most disappointing experience I’ve had. Avoid this place and head somewhere that’s worth it!
Classic LA course
1. No starter and a free for all on the 1st tee
2. Decent condition
3. Deceptive challenging greens and some longer holes
4. Worth the $ on special but not worth much more
5. Super slow pace, typical LA course but priced accordingly
Really
Front 9 was a temp hole in the ground. And the greens on back 9 were normal. 53:00 and no notice from Golf Now or the ability to get the senior rate. I Could have saved 20 dollars and would have been told of the airration by calling the gollf shop. . Thanks Golfnow good job.
This is a very competitive course.
The fairways are very wide on this course, and they allow you to drive the ball with all your energy. The holes are long and very well kept.
Bummed out
I booked an early round thru golf now and was super excited to bring a friend of mine, who had never been there.
To start, the range was closed, so we couldn’t warm up. Whatever, no prob. We check in for our tee time, then walk up to the first tee box. The starter then tells us that the greens are being aerated. Both my buddy and I were shocked that upon checking in, we weren’t informed of this. So again another negative. We still tee off in hopes that we could just get thru the course with bumpy, sandy putts. We were about to hit our approach shots towards the green and I notice the flag was way closer than usual. So we drive up to it and were blown away, the flag stick was in the middle of the fairway with a cup to putt in!! How the heck were we supposed to putt?! I thought it was a joke but unfortunately it wasn’t. The rest of the group also was in shock. Never have I seen this happen at Brookside. We finished the hole (with our wedges) and walked onto hole # 2 still in disbelief. One of the guys used his range finder and saw in the distance the flagstick was in the fairway again!! Across the way on the neighboring fairway, another flagstick in the fairway. At this point we’re all upset that we paid full price for something like this and weren’t notified on conditions. We drove back to the clubhouse and asked for our refunds. Gladly they gave it to us with no problem. They did say that booking thru golf now should’ve had a disclaimer saying the greens are being aerated. Unfortunately there was none. I checked yesterday as well and still no notification on condition. Luckily it was early enough and found a tee time at w other course.
I just wish updates could be made as soon as the course changes so we can be properly informed before making plans to spend 4 hours on the course.
