Brookside Golf Club - C.W. Koiner Course

The pace of play started fine but it started to slow down ,people walking tend to slow pace of play slower as we go to more hole.Watching the foursome in front is also slow, so basically you just have to sit 3 minute tee off idol time .

Totally appreciated the course being open for business. They touted 40.00 18 hole with cart...

Guess what? Cart was 16.00 for Singles!! Could be more honest with the Website and GolfNOw info...they both touted with carts..(If necessary.)!..Im 69 with a limp, my son had foot surgery 6 mo ago..Alls you have to say...Carts available for 16 bucks...simple as that.

Disappointing day, I woke up excited to play the course today. Just to get disappointment with miscommunication about the cart. I booked a tee time with cart included, I showed up to the course , paid my tee time and a small bucket of range balls and never during this time was I communicated about the cart situation. Not until I show up to start my tee time did they mention that it was walking only. The employee working the start of the course told us to go back to the window and pay the difference, I went back to the window and then slam, they said sorry no carts today only for certain individuals. I plead my case and showed the Assistant General Manager my booking confirmation showing him that my booking states cart included, he mention how did you book, I told through GolfNow and he just brushed it off, which means they don’t respect the app. I got frustrated and he stood his ground no customer help at all. All I wanted was a cart or a push cart but he didn’t offer anything, he didn’t care for my business and simply refunded my money back. His new title should be Assisting Lose Customers and Owners Money!

Saturday, Sunday rounds are all day affairs. Fivesomes every 7 minutes really gets the course backed up. We quit after 14 holes.

7:28 tee time, played in 4 hour 45 mins. 2 groups ahead of us were brutal. Also was very surprised to find greens punched, NO HEADS UP ON GLOF NOW!?!?!?

Have played here several time and don’t ever remember the greens playing so fast. That, combined with some extremely punitive pin positions made keeping the ball on the green nearly impossible on some holes. Had one uphill putt stop with a foot of the hole, turn around and then roll about 20 backwards off the green. Had a 7:00 tee time and the greens were damp - would hate to see what they were like late in the day after drying out.

To be fair, we played on a Saturday with Saturday crowds but the starter on Nay seemed to be completely out of his depth. He was letting five-somes out because he lost track of the tee times and was driving his cart all over the tee box (lol). Madness. We teed off 30mins late and hunkered down for a 5.5hr round—waiting every shot. Fairways and tee boxes were fine. Not great but I’ve seen worse on other LA munis. The greens are unbelievably fast and pin positions were pretty cruel. Not a smart move on a muni course where most people are shooting near triple digits. Slowed pace down to a crawl. Beyond that, the routing is really boring. How many straight away par-4s can one course have? Play Wilson.

This course is fun and the layout is solid. Pace can be a little slow, but worth the price and scenery.

Course is ok muni. Greens actually best part. Smooth receptive and decent speed. But management just books too many Round here. 5 hrs is norm. No thanks especially for 48 bucks
