No cart.
I had a 1:08 tee time. Got there 12:15.
Waited to be called until 1:45 and gave up and not played at all. Staff at the course was really nice and give me free round of golf next time.
But, no golf today.........
Terrible pace of play
The pace of play of these Brookside courses absolutely kill them. I should have learned my lesson the last time I played here. I’m a Pasadena resident but I will continue to avoid these courses. You would think the management would wake up to this insidious issue after several years of complaint. If the pace was quicker, they could get more people through it the course and it would make for a far more enjoyable and viable experience for everybody. Shame on the management of these otherwise decent, but not great, courses.
Long!
Took 3:15 to play the front 9. They send out 5somes every 6minutes and wonder why the pace of play is over 6 hours. Crazy.
Popular Course
This is a popular course, because it is easy to find parking, the staff is friendly, the course is challenging without being difficult, the price is pretty reasonable, and is easy to get to.
The challenge is the pace of play. We were a foursome, on a Saturday, and our round was five hours and 35 minutes. We barely made it before the sun went down. There are a lot of players who mark very short putts, take too long to swing, take too long to measure out and walk their putts from every angle just like a pro on TV, and no one in their group calls them on it. Very few groups play quote ready golf “
The pace is slow, because it’s a popular place, filled with people of all kinds of skill levels, etiquette and awareness.
So, you pay your money and you take your chances.
you haven't fix the problem
You keep advertising like we are booking course 1 but you are selling course 2 which is about 1000 yards shorter. You really need to fix it as this is second time I am writing about it. 1st, there were no carts so we had to wait 20 minutes past our teetime, 2nd, course was so filled up that there were 2 groups at every holes tee box and 3 groups at par 3s. We had to stop at 13th hole due to darkness.
Beautiful & Slow
The course is in great shape - although a flat tee box would be helpful - and the greens are rolling nice and true.
Played during the week as a threesome, the course was full and we finished just a few minutes over 5 hours. No Marshalls for pace, just for water.
Nice staff, beautiful layout, plenty of parking, food off the bev cart (bev cart person Maria is really terrific) is great but limited; ordering food from the restaurant is a joke: on hold with no pick up.
You should play here, just be prepared.
Terrible
Terrible tee boxes and fairways. If you like playing on bare dirt then this is the course for you.
Too many bookings grouped too close together
Waited over 30 minutes on tee number 2 alone to get going and overall it took over 6 hours to finish. Unacceptable for the price to have so many groups lined up waiting in a row and allowing every hole to be backed up.
Old faithful
I play here a lot and other than a bit slow pace at the outset this is a great value fir the money.
Brookside - Course 2
The greens are in great shape. Overall, it's a fun course but some fairways needs some maintenance but with all the events that are held at the Rose Bowl, it's still a fun course and a good breeze can make it challenging.
Too slow
My tee time was for 1:45. We finally teed off at 2:30 and we got to play behind a 5 some.
Do not play this course on the weekend/holidays!
This was probably the 4th time I have played the course but the 2nd on the weekend or holiday. Do not play this course on those days! Both times they ran out of golf carts and were running behind over 30 min! Our tee time was 1:40 and we did not get on the course until 2:15. Once I can accept it but to run out of golf carts twice is completely unacceptable. I might play the course again but only during the week. Stay away on the weekends unless you want to endure a late start and a 6 hour round (we finished yesterday around 8 pm).
Surprised by great pace on Saturday!
Perfect weather for an enjoyable afternoon round. Shared cart with a someone I did not know & he was fun to share a round with & new the course.
