Needs lots of work
They've been trying to improve the course for years to get it back to "good" condition. But it's not working, not yet anyway. Many fairways are spotty with grasses missing. Bunkers are fair, but some hold water and were damp. Worst feature is their greens. Many were broken, grass missing, muddy diseased areas. Some were pretty good. The greens are pretty much a lost cause and probably need rebuilding. Cart paths were generally okay. Thus used to be a very, very good course, but you can't let the fairways and greens fall into this state. It'll take years to rebuild, me thinks. I'd probably wait a good bit before returning.

Poor condition.
Majority of greens on the back 9 where unplayable. Nothing mentioned when booking or paying.. Great layout so it was a shame the course conditions were so poor.

Unfortunate waste of money
I hate to give this course a bad review but we wasted our money playing it. The staff is fantastic, there was no one on the course so pace was great. But maybe that's because the greens were pretty bad. Not sure if they had burn out or what but at least 3 were hitting off dirt, 1 or 2 were so bumpy good luck with that. A few things to improve would be adding more signs to find where to find the next hole and make sure if it's cart path only then mention that. We were told that and signs showed that which made it take much longer, but after half way through someone said we didn't have to stay on the paths. Overall this could be a nice course but right now as of 4/9/2022, it's just not worth it.

Greens were in poor condition
Food was sub-par, French fries were not cooked enough and chips were a bit stale.

Deplorable Conditions
A convenient location to meet friends driving from SC, while we come from farther south. We like the layout. Staff is very friendly.
Greens were slooow, had been punched, but a number of greens had large patches with no grass. Same with fairways. Tee boxes as well. They appear to be trying to make improvements (bunkers are much better than last year), but they have a long way to go.
Oh - hold your breath before going into the men’s room. Needs a serious steam cleaning and disinfecting.

Terrible course
I felt like I was playing a course in Oklahoma. Dry, sanded greens, virtually not puttable. Really bad conditioning. Next to an airport with jumbo jets flying overhead. Eppley named Crosswinds golf course due to the Crosswinds on every hole. Find another course.

AM Crosswinds
Needs some signs. Staff was ok but not overly friendly. Kind of told me where #1 tee was but not really. I enjoyed the course layout. Unsure of Georgia seasons and weather. May have been early in year. Greens not in very good shape. Patchy with lots of bare spots. Fairways where average. More signs on course pointing out way and especially at end showing way back to club house.

Good layout/poor conditions
Normally I would recommend this course. This time, I would not. The conditions were disappointing. Many bare spots in the fairways and greens. Played here many times and this was by far the poorest shape I've experienced. Hopefully, this is a short term issue.

Worst Greens
Crosswinds has been a long time favorite course of ours however this is the worst I have ever seen the greens. Number 17 was entirely sand. They have no warning about condition.

Savannah Day Trip
Value was outstanding! Layout was interesting and challenging but several of the greens were not up to par. Pace of play seemed somewhat slow for the two of us but we still finished under four hours….very acceptable!

Good Layout...but!
This is not our first time playing Crosswinds and it is evident that the course needs work, starting at the practice range. It's time for some new balls! As for the course it is a nice layout. We like Crosswinds and will give it the benefit of the doubt that Covid has had an effect on it like everything else. However, the course has had many of its trees removed since last we played and it looks like there was no real plan as to what stays and what goes. As for the course, I assume removing the trees will help the greens battle back as they need a lot of help.
