January Golf !!
For this time of year, the course was in good condition. Greens were consistent.
Fun to play
Good layout, must stay in fairways. Trees off fairways will add stroked. Greens are fast and fun to read.
Inverness Country Club
Older country club that at one time I am sure was very nice. Grass was very scarce in the rough and not very thick on the fairways but not dirt either. Greens were in decent condition and putted quite well. Great hamburger from the restaurant but took about 20 minutes at the turn but no one behind us so no problem. Played in 3 hrs so it moved nicely.
Once Again
We haven't played here since late summer, but the conditions were still very good as is always the case at this course. Pace was good, weather perfect and we had a great time. Enough said, come out and try this course, use Golf Now and get a great price. We'll be back again soon.
Strong layout, good conditions
This was my first time playing Inverness. I was treated well upon arrival and was able to tee off 15 minutes early. I played from the Blue tees at 6356 yards. The course was not crowded and I was able to finish the round in slightly more than 2 1/2 hours.
Tee boxes were good with no issues. The yardages were well marked and matched my rangefinder.
Fairways had good coverage of grass and the ball sat up nicely. There are a number of doglegs that require hitting drives to the proper side of the fairway (I learned the hard way).
Greens, small in size, were in excellent condition. The ball rolled smoothly and truly.
I'd come back here again if I am in the area.
Great Sat. Morning
Very foggy when we left a 9:55, by 10:30 no problems. Greens are in great shape. Wildlife beautiful.
Even Better
We’ve played Inverness every year, for the last six years. The course has improved both their fairways and greens every year. Some holes are not extremely hard, being straight and short. But many doglegs will challenge the better golfer. We’ll continue to return.
Greens
I would give the course a rating if not for the greens. They were not in the best of shape. Overall we liked the course
Can’t be beat
This course is a hidden gem. Conditions are always great with fast, true greens, and lush fairways with grass to hit off. Pace of play is always good. Also, the restaurant, while not fancy, serves really good food at good prices. The staff is a pleasure to deal with.
Course was in fine shape. Played the ball drown with no problems. Will play here again.
Course condition one of the better ones in the area...
I have played the course a couple of times this year..
I have to say the course condition is in good shape compared to a couple of the others I have played..
The lay out is old school but has a couple of holes where you leave the driver in the bag... Try the course you wouldn't be upset by it's condition..
Great course
The SE. Is in excellent condition. Wonderful greens and fairways. We will return again soon.
Where is the grounds crew?
Fairways and greens are nice. Other than that the course needs maintenance. For instance, the ball washers all stink of nasty water, not many visible yardage markers throughout the course, and I'm not sure when the rough was last mowed. We spent a lot of time, unsuccessfully, looking for golf balls that were five yards off the Fairway. GolfNow gives great deals but there are too many other courses around here in better shape for the same price. Also, the carts have to be turned in at 5:30 p.m.???000
Inverness
The course is fairly flat and not too difficult. I would recommend playing from one set further back thsn you normally play.
The greens have a lot of breaks
Nice course!
The course was in great shape and a hidden gem for citrus county.
Great Condition
Thought I would take a minute and comment on Inverness G &CC. Course is in great shape; Greens are some of the best in the area right now. Fairways and Tee Boxes were as good as any around, and the maintenance team was out mowing all of the other areas between, allowing me to easily find my ball when it decided to leave the playing area from time to time :) Hard work and dedication are paying off here. Great job Staff and Maintenance team.
Nice Round
Greens had been aerated recently but were rolling pretty good. Fairways were in good shape. Weather was muggy but no rain. We had the course to ourselves and played 18 in less than 3 1/2 hours.
