Very long with trees, but fair. Not much water.
The course is open under the many trees that line the fairways, so balls off the fairway can be found and played out. Greens were in good shape with some weeds and a few bare spots. Speed was good. Fairways were dry.
As seniors, we normally play from the White Tees, but since the distance from the White Tees is over 6,000 yds, we played from the Gold Tees at about 5,500 yds. Our drives average 200 yds. There were still some long holes.
The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday, so since we played Monday, we tried out the bar afterwards and only snacks were available. Mixed drinks, draft and bottled beer was available at $2.50. Friendly staff.
It was a fun course for the money, $23 plus $5 GolfNow fee each.
Nice course for a good price.
We play a lot of different courses. But we play this one the most. It would be nice to be told when they aerate the greens.
Friendly
Staff very friendly. The course is holding a tournament over 4th of July weekend. Several golfers out practicing. Two groups came up and welcomed us. Course in very good condition considering It's the end of June. Clubhouse staff was gracious to prepare hot dogs for us. Normally they do not offer food on Sunday. We have a great time We will be going back again soon.
Long par 4's
The course is basically flat. Although the course is in excellent condition, please be aware that the par 4's and some par 3's are long. (450 & 200+). Since it was the heat of the day we finished in 3 hours +.
Wont be going back
When I arrived, being that it was my first time there, I had no idea where to go. I asked someone in the club house who was friendly and eventually found my way over to the pro shop. When I walked in to the pro shop nobody was there. I stood around and looked at things for about 10 minutes, almost missing my tee time before I walked out and had to go find somebody to show me who I was looking for. The course is confusing to new players due to the layout but we figured it out. Play time took a little longer than expected.
We only got halfway through the 9th hole when the sprinklers came on right behind us. We still had an hour of play time left and decided to leave because we didnt want to play in the sprinklers.
If the golf course is open until 5:30, why are the srpinklers on at 4pm?
Great Round of Golf
We arrived early for our tee time and were provided with info about the driving range and hours for the grill. Our cart was delivered to us and we were on our way. Course was in great condition, greens were pretty fast even through it was wet in the early Florida morning. Tee boxes were clearly marked and in good condition, as were the fairways and greens. All staff were friendly, and it really id feel like old Florida with the overhanging trees and character of the course. Had lunch in the grill and everyone we met was friendly - food was great and fast service. Would definitely return again.
not too bad
The greens and fair ways were well maintain the ruff was overgrown each green had a little blemish on it but cups were cut away from it.. pace of play was horrible tons of slow playing golfers but for the price I paid it was not bad found a hot deal on golf now otherwise u have to wait till 1 pm if ur not a member.. would play there again if I found another hot deal
This course has challiging par 3's
I played with my wife and we enjoyed it very much. The distance from the red tee for women is a little bit long but playable.
When we return to Florida we wil lplay this course again, I am sure of that.
Lots of trees
Course was in decent condition. The greens were smooth and ran true. Course has many doglegs and narrow fairways. Large trees were in the right places to knock down your bad shots. Two of the par 3s were around 200 yards. Hole #17 a par 5 had a double dogleg
uphill blind green. Course plays long. We had a great time. The man at the pro shop was very nice. Would come back anytime.
Nice greens
Didn't really care for the layout.Fairways are pretty open.Course has a lot of doglegs to the left.
Nice Course With Few Hazards But Not Easy
Found this thru GolfNow and decided to give it a go. Pleasantly surprised considering more than reasonable greens fees. Course in great shape for time of year. Not much water, a few nuisance bunkers; most of the challenge came from the many doglegs. Sometimes multiple doglegs on same hole. Greens rolled nicely. Only negative was seeming lack of interest of the person in the pro shop. Just told us to go ahead without any assistance as to where to pick up a cart or any other helpful info for first time customer.
Good course
The course was nice. The two nines play very different. The front is a little longer and wider the back is shorter and tighter, Very little water, most of it doesn't come into play. Overall the course was in good shape and the greens were true and had a good pace. Not too fast but not slow. Very enjoyable. We are making plans to get back there soon.
Bad experience
Purchased a voucher to play course. Called day before tee time and was told course was booked so couldn't honor voucher. Went online and purchased tee time for 3, went to course and almost no one there. Had to pay twice for same round. Beware of purchasing any prepaid voucher for this course.
bad greens
COURSE COULD BE GOOD BUT A LOT OF BARE GROUND IN FAIRWAYS AND GREENS ARE HARD AS ROCK AND IMPOSSIBLE TO HOLD OR PUTT. COURSE NEEDS A LOT OF WORK.
Great course
This is a great course in my opinion.
Older course established in 1961 but
That is a plus in this case as the course sets up around the huge oak trees and a taste of old Florida, very cool.
Tee boxes and fairways in good shape
Some of the fastest greens I have played
But all putt consistently.
Shot placement off the tee is important
On most holes, and stay below the pins with your approach shots.
Will play this one again, really enjoyed it
Brown greens, and fast
If you like a long trek to a run down once nice old style course this is for you. As one other review stated, its an $8 course worth that because the greens are fast and true. They are the course's only defense. Not much grass in the fairways and rough.
Course conditions were great, service mediocre
Unable to sell any beverage even water. Disappointed that they don't offer any extra
Well worth the money!
Will be back to play again Great to work on game with all the shots.
Great little course
Great course. Good value. Rough is cut and tree lined but can get back into the fairway quite easy. Nicely laid out, fun to play.
Lightning fast greens
Very flat.
Greens very fast.
Fairways fairly narrow, otherwise, not many major obstacles. Minimal water.
