Intro course
This is a great course to take your kids to or just want to work on your game. Most of the course was in great shape but a couple spots were pretty beat up. Greens were fast.
Good starter and practice course
If you had someone’ starting to play golf, blue cypress Is a good place for them to learn. For any avid golfer it is a good place to practice. The range is great since it has all grass tea boxes and the greens on the nine hole course are in pretty good shape for being an executive type of course.
Great value. Great course for newer golfers to get some confidence on. Great course for veteran golfers to play all the clubs in their bag.
Fun to play
Course eas in great condition for this time of the year. Greens and bunkers were excellent.
Fairways were mostly in very good condition except for some hard pan along the sides on some holes.
Quality greens for the price
Lacks a bit of challenge with few hazards and relatively straight holes, but greens are in really good shape for the price and still had fun playing. Perfect place to bring beginner friends and the staff is super friendly as well.
Bigg Dogg
This course is coming along nicely, it is nothing like what it use to be. This may become my alternate home course. ;-D
Great Reno on a Historic Jax Course
This was my first time at Blue Cypress, and my husband’s first time since the renovations and reopening. It’s a tight course layout, but every hole was in great condition. The greens are very well manicured, and the course had some pretty challenging holes. We played early on a Sunday and barely had to wait at the tee boxes.
Great value 9-hole course
I’ve played this short 9 hole course a few times in the last month and I’m glad I did. The staff were attentive and courteous, the greens were in basically pristine conditions along with some tough hole locations which made some of the shorter holes more challenging, and the pace of play was great. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. 9.5/10
I particularly enjoyed holes 7/8. They are very
narrow and run parallel to each other with a wooded area filled with mossy oaks in between. Absolutely smoked my drive on the par 5 7th and nutted a 3 wood to make it on the green in 2, only to then 3-putt like a loser. ;-(
Great little course good long hikes in 8 and 9
Had so much fun I came back for another round. No amenities at the course but the staff is very friendly and the course does have challenges.
I just needs a great bar and a large alligator for flavor and it would be a 5 star.
I
I will stop and play anytime I am in Jacksonville
Impressed
This was my first time at this course and I was rather impressed. The greens were in impeccable condition. The golf carts were clean and easy riding. Be sure to bring your own drinks due to the lack of a beverage cart. They need to install another bathroom or have a port-a-potty available for use. I would have to say that I will definitely be returning in the future.
A great course for beginners
This course is really nice for the price. The greens were in fantastic shape. Some of the fairways were a little muddy but it also has been raining heavily in the area the last few days.
I did notice that there were no bunkers on any of the holes which I thought was strange.
Staff was very friendly.
Will definitely be returning!
Extremely friendly staff, great course!
This was my first time playing Blue Cypress and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful explaining the course layout. Had a great time playing today!
Great greeens, fantastic rates
This course is doing really well after the reopening. It is a good course with a nice range and practice green. The pro shop is nice and has a wide selection of snacks and drinks. The rates are fantastic, people 18 and under play free and the normal 18 rate is only 20 dollars (at least it was when I played). The course itself is nice, the greens are in good shape and the fairways are okay, some rough areas. The tees are sandy but playable. The course deserves more of a 3.5 star rating overall. The course itself is not hard, mostly straight with little water, there is a lot of trees but bunkers are scarce. It is a short course with the tips being 5800 for 18. Overall might play again if I’m in the area.
