Jacksonville Beach Golf Club
About
The newly revamped Jacksonville Beach Golf Club, built in 1959, is one of the only public access courses on Jacksonville's Beaches. The golf course was originally designed by Sam Snead.
The changes at Jacksonville Beach Golf Club began with the rebuilding and modernizing of more than half the greens on the golf course, along with some new bunkers and bulkheads to add to the already beautiful look.
The 18-hole golf course measures 6,510 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.9, with a slope rating of 126.

Good Location
The golf course are close to the beach, hotels, and restaurants. Excellent golf course for any level of golfers. There are a few bald spots on the green that needs to be repaired on a couple holes.
you get what you pay for
Has a number of good holes. Also a couple funky ones. I guess the greens are good, but alot of sanding taking place. Pace was bad the first 5 holes until someone called the clubhouse and they sent a ranger out. If you book because of price expect an experience equal to that of what you pay.
Best greens in 4 years! Fun fun fun!
I always enjoyed the course layout and their generous walking policies. Now, with the greens in their best condition in over 4 years, it has been fun playing this course. Except for hole #1, all the other greens have fully recovered, kudos to the new greens keeper and the pro. You guys have done a marvelous job.
Great visibility
Great course at a great price. Our course of choice while on vacation. While still challenging we could see the course layout for every shot. Gem of a course that is walkable.
GOOD COURSE
Temp green on #14 was the only bad thing about the course. Tee Boxes, Fairways and greens are in above average condition
The course was in great shape.
Had a great round and the price was right. Thanks golfnow.com
Needs work
Greens and fairways need work.i realize it's a municipal course but spend some of the tax dollars on seed and fertilizer.
Never Again.
I used to play this course over ten years ago. Since then they have done major renovations and change a few holes. My first thought is why the renovations when you can't even keep up with the current course. Sand on the green covering up huge dirt spots. This place is a over priced cow pasture. The GPS on the cart was broke and its wasn't one of those fancy display screen ones. Hitting off mats on the range, crude smell from the neighbouring water treatment facility. Only reason you could justify coming to this course is if you lived at the beach close to the course and you didn't have a car and were forced to walk. If i was offered a free round I wouldn't take it. Stay Away! There are so many other courses in Jacksonville that are much nicer and have a better price point. You've been warned.
Windy Day - Poor Greens
Jax Beach has been overpriced for some time. I love the course layout. I just wish someone could figure out how to maintain the course. The fairways did seem to be improved, but the greens when from super fuzzy to fairly quick...sometimes on the same green! This is actually an improvement to this course that used to have sand traps for greens.
The price is the same as some other courses that are in perfect condition in town.
I recommend lowering the price until you can fix the greens.
great fun freat value decent pace of play
wind was unusually brutal. weather was unseasonably cool. course was in good shape everywhere but not great. greens were decent moderate speed and just a few bumpy spots. paired my son and i with a local gentleman. had a great time.
Torn Up
Overall the course was torn up from use, but otherwise very challenging and difficult.
Poor course condition, and too much water!
First, and last time, we would place this course.
The Starter told us that the course was in the best condition it had been in all year.
The course condition, especially the tee boxes and greens were terrible, were not good.
While being on the course, there is an odor from neighboring power plant.
Clubhouse is very nice, though.
Enjoyable round
First time playing in over a year. The course was in good shape for a municipal course. Fairways were a little high but very payable.Greens were in good shape for this time of year.I had a very enjoyable round with the players I was paired with as a single. I will play this course again.Jacksonville,
staff
Staff is very friendly. In my hurry to the course I left my golf to well and golf shoes back home. I was telling the starter on the first tee, he searches his cart and gets a clean golf to well for my use and just said "you can use this this one and leave it in the cart AT the end of the round"
Lots Of Effort
These guys have really worked to upgrade the layout. The original Sam Snead design was very old school nostalgic. They've upgraded the difficulty level by adding contours to greens and redesigning a couple holes. Guys, you've got to stop now, though. It's enough of a challenge right now. You keep tinkering and tinkering you're to overdo it.
Getting Better
I first played this course in January 2014 and it was not so good. Conditions have improved greatly. Greens were overall good shape but fairways still just ok.
Nice local course
Great little course, the staff was super friendly and the grass was in good shape. The cart girl was super nice also.
Nice course layout with absolutely terrible greens
The worst greens I have ever played. Do not recommend this course. I complained to clubhouse and they stated they had recently fired greens keeper. Rightfully so. Would not play this course again even for free. What a waste of time and money even though only $200.
Exactly what you expect for a muni.
I live near the course, so it's very convenient for me. The pace of play here is always SLOW, and the starters don't seem to pair up groups for efficiency. Otherwise, the course seemed to be in ok shape, except for a few greens. The course has a good layout, and is generally fun to play. The staff here is great, and has always been friendly and welcoming.
Great day at Jax Beach Golf Course
Weather was great. Course was in good condition with the exception of a couple of the greens. Overall, very enjoyable experience.
