Jacksonville Beach Golf Club
About
The newly revamped Jacksonville Beach Golf Club, built in 1959, is one of the only public access courses on Jacksonville's Beaches. The golf course was originally designed by Sam Snead.
The changes at Jacksonville Beach Golf Club began with the rebuilding and modernizing of more than half the greens on the golf course, along with some new bunkers and bulkheads to add to the already beautiful look.
The 18-hole golf course measures 6,510 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.9, with a slope rating of 126.

Don't play here...
The course was in really bad shape. Greens, fairways, etc...
Was pretty slow as well. Just not a great place to play golf. I definitely would recommend spending an extra $10 and going somewhere else.
Worth it if it is a hot deal
Played here for the low 20 price range and it was well worth it. The greens on the front 9 seem to be a little worse than the back. I can remember 2 or 3 having very little grass. Course is starting to green up and it should be in pretty good shape in a month or so. Water everywhere. Lost 3 balls which is more than usual. Probably a little better than the average course in the area. Grab you a hot dog at the turn. They are pricey, but delicious. Got to see a bald eagle swoop down to the water and grab him some lunch which was pretty awesome to see.
Even goats would be disappointed .
I've played here plenty of times and it's at an all time low. Beyond the horrible conditions of the greens, the fairways had almost no grass what so ever. I would recommend closing for 30 days and getting it back to a playable situation.
Jacksonville Beach Golf Club
Tee boxes in poor shape. Fairways in poor shape. Greens were in bad shape. Paid for 18 holes, but quick after 9 holes. Staff was very nice!
Back to being a dog track
This course could be so nice, but it is completely run down at this point. Rough is a joke. Fairways are tight and frequently bare, weeds, or sand. The greens are half dead in places where they have spray painted them green. They have zero spin for chip shots. They do not hold lines. They bump putts all over the place like Plinko. Luck is more important than skill in making anything longer than 2 feet. Pace of play is terrible and there are no rangers to move along the groups of octogenarians who park almost on the greens and can't hit the ball more than 50 yards but refuse to allow faster groups to play through. Avoid unless you just can't afford the extra $5-10 to play anywhere else.
painted greens, sand and dirt, unbelievable!
$45 for a $15 course! aware golfers! just a below average course for an above average price
Good course a little pricey
Good course, avg greens. Big shot opportunities! Over all fun course
JB
Greens are bare and spotty, very rough to putt on. Fairways are firm with dormant tight lies. Good value and relaxing time is about it.
DOG TRACK!.
Jacksonville beach city should be ashamed of themselves.
Terrible condition from start to finish, such a shame.
Good overall course for the price
I am new to golf. Have played a few times here because of the good price. Overall a good, fun course.
bring a life preserver
a lot of water, placed just for the intermediate golfer . The greens are deceiving because they are scalped and dyed. can't wait till warmer weather.
Course Conditions
No grass any where, greens muddy, tees only dried grass, poorest course I've played in years
avoid untill late april
for some reason they did not over seed the greens this year. I usually love to play here in the winter because the rye greens are better than the summer Bermuda. since they saved money by just letting them go dormant the results were horrible. unputtable. like putting on dirt. ill try again when the Bermuda grass comes in. until then STAY AWAY
Jax Beach Golf Club
Course appeared to be in run down condition. greens were slow and had sand on them. Standing water on several holes although it had not rained. I had played here about 10 yrs ago and it was a totally different course. It was in great shape.
Where did that wind come from?
My son (12 YRS old) and I played on Sunday. There wasn't very many players because of the wind ( it was blowing 15MPH ), but that meant we could take our time. Greens were looking pretty good, in fact course seemed to be handling the change in weather pretty well.
nice course
The greens were a litte rough. But it might have been because of the weather. Would play again
GREENS WERE IN TERRIBLE SHAPE
COURSE WAS VERY WET DUE TO NIGHT TIME / MORNING RAINS .... OUTSIDE OF GREENS, REST OF COURSE WAS MANAGEABLE, BUT ALL GREENS WERE PATCHWORK ....
great value for the money
great course for the money. need to be accurate off the tee. there is a lot of water on most of the holes. Also need to be able to play in the wind.
Has plenty of water hazards.
A good course with plenty of water.. Condition is very good.
Very Happy with the Course
I played this course months back and terrible didnt even cut it. I was very happy with conditions, greens, fairways etc... They are doing a great job and this course is coming back. Had a blast and cant wait to go back.
