Course condition and Golf Cart Availability
Golf cart availabilty extremely limited. We had to wait until tee off time to receive a cart. Very "POOR" course conditions. LA County should "CLOSE" the Eaton Canyon course if unwilling to upgrade or maintain within reasonable conditions. I will not return despite being a resident of the adjacent area.
Course Being Neglected
Really disappointed with Eaton Canyon Golf Course.
1st. Half of their golf carts are out of service, had to wait 30 minutes for a cart.
2nd. Fairways are dry and full of gopher holes. Need a 4X4 to ride this course not a golf cart.
3rd. Looks like their maintenance crew are on strike. If your ball goes left or right from the tee box, good luck finding it. Weeds are up to your knees, you’ll probably never find it.
And
5th. Restrooms look like someone partied too hard and blasted the toilets with their lunch.
Improvement
Much improved conditions from 3 months ago. Greens were in good condition, and fairways had more grass.

Very good greens
Some uneven lies in the fairway. Elevation changes also.
Don't Play Here
This course is in serious need of a management change.. The kid working in the starter shop admitted that he doesn't even play golf and therefore couldn't understand why not having any range balls available before our round was a problem. It's evident that the people running this course do not care about the average everyday golfer. Also , I did not see a Marshall the entire time we played.. Some players were hitting 3 and 4 shots out of the tee Box and therefore, a 9 hole round took almost 4 hours.. I will never play there again.
Think twice before booking a round!
The greens are the best part of this course, the fairways are in horrible shape ... lumpy, bumpy and full of ruts! The course needs serious attention!
Good for learning
This is a good course for your first round or if you want to play a relatively cheap 9 holes. The cart path, or what is left of it, is in disarray. Always a long wait for carts and they typically die on your around the 7th hole if you make it that far. Bad conditions of the greens. A good place to play in the middle of the week or if you're learning but don't make it your weekend course.
Poor conditions
Course was very badly taken care of. The fairways are not good
Course gone downhill
This course used to be reasonable and a fun 9 hole. The course has not been maintained meaning even hitting a fairway doesn’t mean you’ll be playing on grass. If you hit the ball anywhere besides center of the fairways you’re more than likely going to be playing off rocks tree limbs or other trash and debris. When you factor in cart and thigh light fees $25 for a single rider is not acceptable for a course in this condition. An absolute rip off that I would avoid at all costs. If you’re looking for a nice 9 hole, I would recommend the sister course Altadena golf course otherwise pay $2-5 more and get a full 18 on One of Pasadena’s nicer courses. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Better Than Average
For 9hole courses in the LA area this one is slight above average because 1) it's relatively easy to get a tee time 2) price is reasonable 3) greens are for the most part decent in speed and quality - BUT that's about it. This is a course for entitled white people mostly - and it shows. It's plagued by slow play and first/never before golfers as is almost any public course these days, so the pace can get to 3hrs. Too many knuckleheads who have no concept of etiquette or cart golf can make a weekend round miserable. I never ride this course, it's totally walkable but there is some incline to it - especially holes 4-6, but I've seen them run out of golf carts. Off fairway and rough areas are a nightmare, poorly maintained and you can absolutely count on losing a ball if you miss a fairway because leaves and heavy debris or grass, hardpan that can send the ball anywhere, numerous creature holes and an abundance of overgrown stuff. There a lots of older folk who play extremely slow on this course and they don't care about pace - so be patient.
