Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club - North Course
About
Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club offers two championship courses, the North and the South. Both courses sprawl across a verdant landscape covered with mature oaks, lakes, and ponds. The terrain is unusually hilly for Florida. Like the South Course, the North Course is undulating with a lot of movement but it has even greater elevation changes than the South, which provides scenic views of the surrounding community. On a clear day, golfers can see at least five miles to the northeast from the second tee. The North has a more modern layout that plays a little bit longer. Although the golf courses are nestled amongst rolling hills, Lake Jovita is situated just 30 minutes north of Tampa. The unique hilliness of the courses and their convenient location have made them some of Florida's must-play courses.

Lake Jovita continues to impress
Lake Jovita continues to be my favorite course in the Tampa area. The value of play is very good, especially in the summer. As a big fan of fast greens, I always feel at home here, which seems to be few and far between in the area. More space than a traditional Florida course allows for more forgiveness and better views. I highly recommend playing this course if possible.
Top Rated
One of the best course in Florida. I have played many of them. 1st class . Long drive from south Hillsborough county, but worth it.
Nice round
3 1/2 hour round. Cart girl was timely. Staff was friendly and helpful. Course in great shape especially for this time of year. No complaints
Lake Jovita
One of the best in the area. Greens are in great shape.
Loved it
I love this course , really fun and challenging layout and greens. I will 100% be back again.
Fast Greens
Lake Jovita (North)is one of the nicest courses in the Tampa Bay area. For a high handicapper it is a real challenge, not so much in your approach to the greens but once you get on the greens. The greens are some of the fastest greens I've seen around and I play an average of 4 rounds of golf a week at various courses. Despite this, it was an incredibly great day with great friends, especially for a hot deal price of $25. A couple tee boxes need work, but the fairways are in great condition, the sand traps are filled with sand, unlike many surrounding courses that are rock hard or thin. Play the North Course, you won't be disappointed. My next venture there is to play the South Course, which is just as good and even more challenging than the North Course.
Always fun
Course in pretty good shape. Some fairways had areas with weeds, greens were excellent.
The course has some interesting holes.
Beautiful course well Manicured and the staff is first class.
Over booked
Four tournaments running plus member event no parking
No carts
5:30 round
Pace of play not controlled by anyone
Hidden Gem
Went to play the North course with a friend. We both live in Tampa. This was well worth the one hour drive.
Everything was in great shape and a 5 star experience. We paid only $50 and that's a steal for this course.
The only negative were the tee boxes could use a little love but otherwise the greens rolled great, fairways and rough were in good shape. I'd highly recommend any golfer that plays the local Tampa Bay public courses to check this out. Do not hesitate on making the drive.
Great course but...
I played this course a few times and I have definitely seen it in better shape but it is still pretty amazing especially if you get a hot deal. We've gotten a lot of rain recently and the bunkers were pretty washed out. Some had a bunch of standing water in them and some just looked pretty rough even though the water had drained out. There are a few patches around the greens or on the edges of the fairways where it looks like they had some kind of fungus hit but overall greens and Fairways are fantastic. I haven't played the South course in a while but my understanding is the North Course is a little more open than the South course. I think they actually just closed the North Course and opened the South course.
NICE DAY AT THE TRACK
PLAYED IN 3 1/2 HRS COURSE GREAT STAFF GREAT, PLAYED WITH A GREAT FREIND TEMP WAS 94 FREND SHOT 94 GREAT ODDS
One Course that is a pleasure to review
As usual, speedy greens with breaks that are hard to read. Course Management is vital on almost all holes because being our of position is often a stroke. this course challenges from any tee.
UNBELIEVABLE

Relaxing beautiful views.
Open fairways, large greens, lots of hills along with beautiful scenery.
Lightning fast round
As a first time on this course I was fortunate to pair up with someone who knew the course and the hazards to avoid. Larger groups ahead were courteous about waving us through, making the round just over 2.5 hours. It’s a challenging track with traps that gave birth to more traps, so accuracy is important. Greens were fast and had plenty of slopes, ridges, and turns to keep putting interesting. Fairways generally have lush turf, with a few wet areas. Lots of elevation changes. Clubhouse staff very friendly and helpful. The only detraction keeping this from being a five-star course - and it’s entirely a personal preference - is the housing development setting, albeit a very upscale and beautifully landscaped setting.. That detracts from having the kinds of truly scenic, memorable holes that make the difference between very good and excellent.
