Looks like they have given up completely on the greens on the front nine. The amount of "crab grass" growing throughout the practice green was indicative of all greens on the front nine and most of the greens on the back. Thought I had hit a couple of sprinkler heads in the fairway off the tee but the 15 foot bounce was just from the dryness of the fairways. There were a few instances where the bush in front of the tee boxes needs to be cut down since you had no view of where the fairway was. Unfortunate that the shape of the course was so bad because one can see that the layout of the course is really nice.

Tough course without course knowledge. The greens are slow and some have several bad spots. Water comes into play on many holes. Certainly a challenge.

The greens are in horrid condition, most of the greens have holes dug in them, patches of turf missing on many greens. Overall a very poorly maintained course for the price point.

Love the course layout, but the greens are in very bad condition as well as the fairways. They are almost gone in many places and it needs watering or rain.

This course has all the potential to be a great course, and the staff was top notch and friendly. The tee boxes were not maintained at all, and the greens had unwanted growth of grass and weeds, as well as many spots filled with sand on each green, 4-8 inches in diameter. Overpriced for condition of the course. and play was somewhat slow. 4hrs 45 min

Course is in the worst condition I've ever seen it I wouldn't spend more than $20 to play it again there's hardly any grass on the course , greens have weeds and bad spots you cannot put over, I don't know how they get away charging over $20

Spend your money somewhere else. This course is nothing but disappointment and garbage. I wouldn’t even call it a golf course. none of the tea boxes have grass, the greens have lots of unfixed areas and lots of sand. Really disappointing. I wouldn’t even play here again if they paid me.

close to drought conditions but even so it seems there is little irrigation for fairways and the greens were in avg to poor shape, don't know if it's pests or disease or vandelism.. too narrow for me and too much trouble... good if you like that sort of thing

The greens had weeds in em, the rough was anything but rough, it was hard thin lyes on dead grass or sand. All the tee boxes were destroyed. Honestly one of, if not the worst course I’ve ever played.

Like many, most other public Sarasota golf courses, minimal expense has been spent on not even maintaining good course conditions. The courses are busy, lots of revenue, but it all stays in the pocket. At this time of year golf courses should be lush & beautiful; but, alas, not so. Very unfortunate, will likely golf & vacation in a different area next year. I will pass these comments on to my northern neighbours.

This course was not in good shape. The tee boxes and greens were in very poor shape. Tee boxes had no grass at all and any green were weeds. Greens were just as bad with weeds in them.

I must say unless something dramatically changes I would never recommend this course to anyone. The tees had very little grass on them. Fairways were so dry . Greens had bad spots all over. It looked like poanna grass was taking over greens. If I hadn’t already paid I would have asked for money back!

They should be ashamed to charge money to play at this course .Tee boxes ,greens , were not maintained at all no grass in fairways sand spots on all the greens To charge $69.00 they should have paid us to play there ,Crabgrass on the greens HORRIBLE ,PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

This coarse was in terrible condition, tee boxes were the worst I’ve ever played, greens bad (weeds), lack of water was obvious. The cost of this coarse is not worth it.

Tara Preserve was in terrible condition when we played March 8. The whole course was terribly dry...it doesn't look like they have sprinklers. Many of the greens had tufts of grass sticking up. The cart path was very rough and bumpy. Golf in Sarasota has gotten very expensive in recent years, so this is one of the few regular length courses you can play for under $40. But it was so under-maintained that I probably wouldn't go back.
