About

Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Major Delay

Requesting credit or raincheck for 9 holes. I arrived at course early, 945am. Advised I could go to practice putting green and when other golfers scheduled for 10:45am tee off arrived, they would pick me up at practice green. By 11AM I went back to starter as I had not been picked up. No answer on why group did not stop to get me. By the time starter was able to put me with another group, I could only play 9 holes as I had a doctor's appointment to attend.

Starter told me he couldn't give me a rain check since I booked with Golf Now. This is the first time this has happened to me, ever.

Requesting a credit for nine holes or a rain check for nine holes.

You have to have some skill use all your clubs. Elevated greens you must hit extra clubs.

What a fun course ! My only gripe is that as a first timer out there there was not a lot of signage on the course so I got lost a few times trying to find the next hole. Course in great shape otherwise
