Scotland Yards Golf Club
About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Really?
I’m wondering what other courses some of the people writing reviews have played? I literally was looking for cows and goats in the fairways because that’s all this place is…a cow pasture. But to give it a four star rating is absolutely beyond my comprehension. A five star rating is something that is excellent. Which means a four star rating is very close to that. This course is a one star and that’s being generous. Bay Hill is four stars. Orange Tree is four stars. TPC Sawgrass is 4 stars. Does everyone think this course is on the same planet as those because I surely do not. Nor do I think the aforementioned courses are 5 stars, so there is no way in H E double hockey sticks that this place is four stars! The layout is awful, the greens roll at a snails pace, and the fairways are some of the worst I’ve seen. So, reviewers, please spend a little money and go play at least a 3 star course such as a Disney course…because that’s what those are and Scotlands Yards will definitely yield a one star from the next review. BTW, I’m not being mean or argumentative, I’m being brutally honest.
Much improved
Haven’t played here in awhile due to course conditions.
Pleasantly surprised with the improvements made on the course.
Have always enjoyed the course layout.
We love this course
Gets better and better. Need a little more weed control but other than that just fine. Please, keep up the good work.
Forgiving course
This was my first time playing this course. I enjoyed it because it’s a forgiving course. It’s wide and spacious. Like many courses in the area, they are getting it ready for the fall.
Scottish Scotland Yards
Enjoyed our game here - with a friendly welcome when arriving to the excellent bar staff after our game in very hot conditions. The course felt unique to any others we have played in the Orlando area -like being in the hills somehow away from everyone else. This is not the best layout but for the very reasonable green fee the course was in good shape. Fairways in good condition and the greens smooth and true though a little slower than some.
Excellent Value and Service
The course was in great condition. After heavy rains the night before it drained well. Enjoyed the layout, especially the blind tee shot.
Nice course!
We had two groups play yesterday and we liked the course. Wide fairways and the greens were good. We’ll return soon!
getting better
I played this course 2 years ago and wasn't impressed, but a friend played it recently and recommended I give it another try. Most greens in good shape, fairways also better, although super tight lies, more grass on fairways needed. will be back!
Great course
As a senior I play from the gold tees and except for a couple of challenging holes (all on the front 9) it is a fair course and on the back 9 every hole can be parred, of course I haven't done that yet but the fact that's its possible makes playing the back nine very enjoyable.
Ok golf
The course has improved in the last few months. Greens are in most cases very good but some were burned out or mode too low for the dry conditions we are experiencing now. Some fairways were were a little bit bare and hard to find a nice lie. The course is challenging and the predominant winds make it a little bit more challenging.
Great price great course
From the appearance of the pro shop to the greens everything was great. Fairways were great, most divots repaired on fairways and greens. Greens were running at a good speed, not dead, actually green. Dropping some shots in the greens and no pitch marks which showed me they were hard greens immediately. Playing here again in a couple of weeks
