About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Scotland yards
Very very windy the dat we played. Making the course easier on some but so much more difficult on others. On front nine we wrre behind afather daughter combo that waited til the group in front of them was on the green regardless par 3 or 4 or 5. Made for a very frustrating front. Needed a ranger to speed up their play. Skipped playing the ninth to get around them. Much faster on back
Scotland yards
Course is still in good condition. The greens are perfect speed, not too fast or not too slow. Fairways have grass but are beginning to become sparse in some spots especially on the back nine. Still in better shape than other courses in the area.
Greens in great shape
Overall, the coure conditions were good. Tee boxes decent, fairways decent. A couple hardpan spots. Greens rolled really good, not lightning fast but a good speed.
Keeps Improving
This course used to be pretty scraggly but the management is obviously interested in improving it-AND IT SHOWS! Fairways are pretty good and better than most of the open-to-the-public courses in the TB area. Greens were in very good condition but hard and bouncy. Traps were in good shape and actually had raked sand in them! Lots of courses fail at this.
One note however-the carts don't have rainbonnets to protect your clubs, so I would not come here in wet weather.
But the improvements here will keep it in our regular rotation.
Small greens
The overall layout is decent. The greens are well below average size which made it especially Challenging in the wind. The greens were all in good shape and were medium speed. It has some holes that are tough to know where to hit the ball the first time you play. For the price it is a good value. I would play it again.
This course needs some work
They have made some improvements (still needs some work ) and it shows hopefully they will continue . I will play again .
Much improved
I haven't played here in a year and a half, the improvements are great. Fairways good condition, greens are really good. I was very impressed with the improvements. Recommend this course!
Improving course
This course has seen improvements with the current management. I believe it will continue.
Pleasantly Surprised!
If the beaten path, but was well worth it. Choose this course to meet my buddy around the halfway point between where we live and I was very happy to see the kind of shadow this course was in. Links style course, feels like in the middle of nowhere, but has a wonderful day out! Weather and course was great! The lady @ the proshop needs a little customer service training, but I'll absolutely be back!
