Scotland Yards Golf Club
About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Golfer Reviews
Vastly improved!
I last played here in February 2020. It was then obvious that new ownership was working to repair the course. They have done a great job. Greens are nearly all in very good shape and consistent. They rolled true though a bit slow for my taste. That is not a criticism but rather a statement of my preference. Fairways are much improved. Lies are still tight but one can play the ball down and hit good golf shots (if one plays the game that way - I do not see many others that do these days). I hope to return to play at least once a week until I go north again in M arch.
Good Local Course
Tees and greens are in very good shape; greens are a bit slow for me, but are consistant throughout. I play this course twice a week and if I have any criticism, the pin placements don't change often enough.
Worst Golf Experience Ever
Had a a paid tee time and thus course was so overbooked that a six hour round looked possible. Staff was incredibly rude and unapologetic. There must have been 6 or 7 4 somes in frontvif me. Horrible greed for overlooking and money. Never again. Word of mouth speaks volumes.
Great Course
Staff has done a great job with course. Greens are the best we have played on in sometime. Pace of play was nice, all in all a great day of golf. Thanks to the staff for making all the improvements on the course.
Course was in good shape. Greens were slightly shaggy, but true. As a side note, I am no longer receiving email notification of my new rewards. Please reinstate notification of rewards through email.
Scotland Yard
Great greens. Challenging turtle shells and elevated. Very long and driver friendly course.
Dazed and Confused
Course was in good shape, greens were consistent. Starter got us out 20 minutes early, started us on the back 9. We were a bit frustrated when we came to the turn to find 4 groups being rushed out the front ahead of us because they had a league starting on the back…i have no comment on that logic..
