Scotland Yards Golf Club
About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Prefect Day
I have not played this course years Greens were a little slow but not bad Teeboxes Need some attention with them not being level or flat but overall the course look good no real big issues was very surprised at how good it looked will definitely be back
Good course for the price!
Enjoyed the round, fairways and greens were in very good condition.
Fair condition
Bad spots in some greens and bare spots in quite a few fairways. Front nine was pretty wet after all the rain we had. Paid $30 to play early due to the heat. Seems a bit high. When you arrive... bring a bath towel to wipe off your cart.
Always a fun round
Met up with a local group of buddies and had a great time. The course is really turning around with all the work that the new management has put in. The staff is always friendly, round of golf was great and the 19th hole you are always welcomed.
Great for a family outing
Not a fancy course, but a friendly course to play, wide open fairways, greens were nice, not a ton of traps. Only lost 1 ball, course could be nicer and cart paths need a full redo, but for $20 I won’t complain, staff was very nice.
scotland yard
Have played this course many times and dor the price it's great. Fairways need a lot of work
Cargo
Corse starting to get back in good shape, a few bare spots, but overall fine. A few fareways under constructiion , greens slow but puttable.
I dont think there can be a course in worse condition
Scotland Yards
Played this course many times and it is unfortunately going down hill fast. The course is now full of crab grass and the greens are in terrible shape. Today there was 2 5balls in front of us so we had to wait 10minutes on every tee box to tee off. It will be awhile before I play this course again.
Could be a good course.
Check in good. Lady in proshop friendly and helpful.
Single with own gas powered cart.
Condition of course not good. Some greens little grass.
The few other players on the course friendly.
Aside from the single cart, no other Covid-19 precautions. Concerning.
Great if you are over 60
Overall I probably wont play it again but it isn't horrible. Tee boxes are well traveled and losing some greens. Not a lot of grass on the fairways. Overall not a long course. Good Mon - Thursday practice course.
Give it a try
This is a fun, links style course. Water doesn't come into play although some heavy bogs occasionally do. Mostly very short par 4's (approx 300-345 yds) from the white tees. Most holes are straight away and there are no extreme doglegs.
Fairways go from fairly good to quite sparse so we improved lies when necessary. Occasional trees in play but not many. The greens are in pretty good shape but vary in speed. Overall I would call them slow. I was disappointed that the holes were not turned upside down like most courses are doing now, so you have to reach deep into the hole to retrieve your ball. Sand traps were average, although some are in good strategic position to catch errant drives.
Carts do not have a rain hood for the clubs, so I would NOT recommend playing here when any rain is predicted.
Overall a fun course, we had a nice day and the price of $18 on a Sunday for a HOT DEAL is excellent.
A course on it's way back
This course has the making's of a good course you can see that the owners and staff are on tract to return this course to it's original greatness . Hopefully people will support the course so it can survive !
Scotland Yards
Nice course, condition is good. Some thin spots on fairways. Greens in nice shape and hold well but are slow.
Enjoyed playing it.
Scotland Yard - On The Road To Improvement!
This was a hurting facility with the previous ownership. The new owners have made great strides starting with the greens---slow but great condition! The fairways are filling in beautifully, good g with grass for hitting wedges and are getting so much better! Tee boxes are a work in progress. Sand bunkers have decent sand in most. Carts are newer and cart paths are still rough but workable. But, the clubhouse is now open for beverages for 19th Hole enjoyment, along with a new menu for pub-style food! Great strides made in every area and it is a very good value for the $$.
Fun Course
This is a nice fun course to just let the ball fly. Most fairways are wide open and there are not too many trees or water hazards to worry about. Grass on the fairways is pretty sparse and they are very hard, so you get some great rollout on the drives. Tees and greens are in excellent condition, although the greens were just a bit hairy and pretty slow. Several very short par 4's are great for the ego. Prices are very good and pace of play was good. Some nice panoramic views out on the course.
Recommended.
