Scotland Yards Golf Club
About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Needs work
The course is in transition right now or I hope it is for as rough and beat up as the course is. A lot of dead trees on this course that need to come out. Front nine greens in terrible shape but they look like they are being worked on. Would not recommend this course at this time. Will see how it looks in a few months.
Course Condition
This year the course conditions are less than adequate. The fairways need attention with the mowing. The greens are extremely slow due mostly to the grass not being closely cut. On the day we were there, the tee markers were removed for mowing on the majority of the holes, but we saw only two mowing machines on the entire course for the day. There was a machine following behind us on the holes we played and appeared to be "paintjng" the greens. Many of the greens had bare sandy sections.
Scottland yard
Loved the layout. Could use some attention to details. Understand they lost there greens and aren't to bad. Little slower than I like. But mostly filled in. Tee boxes were flat and had grass. Fairways were a touch thin in some areas. Not a tour stop course but will play again for that price. 7.22 cents for a jack and water was a bit high even for golf course prices. But staff was very friendly.
Same old
Understaffed, overpriced, greens slow, fairways miserable, t boxes like a hayfield. Shouldn’t pay more tha 15$ to play here. Keep hoping every year that it will improve but it’s always a wreck.
NOT GOOD
THIS COURSE ISN'T GOOD AT ALL. GREENS ARE REEL BAD, FAIRWAYS NOT MUCH BETTER. EVEN THE HOT DOG I PURCHASED AT THE TURN WAS TERIBLE. IT HAD TO BE COOKING FOR 2 DAYS. ONE BITE AND IT WAS IN THE GARBAGE. THIS COURSE IS A LAST RESORT OPTION. SHOULD NOT PAY MORE THEN $15 TO PLAY HERE.
DON'T SAY YOU WERE NOT WORNED!
Nice Course ... Great Price ...
Once again, Golf Now got me a Great Price on a Nice Course ... Course was in Okay Shape, but some Areas Could use a lil Work, but all and All a Nice Course... I Will Definitely Play here again ... I got a Great Price on Golf Now ... Thanks Golf Now ... A+ ...
Enjoyable Round of Golf
Very Nice Course, could use a touch up here and there, but very playable. 2nd time playing here and I will be back. Nice Course for the Golf Now price ...
Highly recommend
Great coarse, yes like most places they have a couple greens that need some extra attention. Minor stuff. The setting and some of the views while playing is un matched of anywhere I have played in Florida so far. For the price, the feee lunch, definitely will come back!!
Scotland Yards
A few of the greens need some work but overall it is a fun course to play.
A little improvement at the cow pasture
The course is still pretty rough. Bad tees, fairways and greens. But a few places looked a little better. Decent practice course if you can get a hot deal.
Perfect day
I play this golf course before and looks like has new management because is coming very good. Finally the have fairways, greens are coming good and you can see people working hard around. I can't wait to play this golf course in summer. Probably one of the most beautiful golf courses in the area . I'll be back!
Course improving
The course is improving greens are coming around great value for the money
Poor conditions and no player courtesy
Played as a single be hind a foursome that had no one in front of them for all 18 holes and they never waved me thru. Fairways were pretty rough and the greens were rough and had a lot of bare spots. I would say the greens would have been around a 1 on a stempmeter,
Very poor condition
Rough fairways and terrible greens. Lunch time and no available food!
Course is improving
After some difficulties due to a change of ownership, the course is getting back in shape. The greens, especially, are improving rapidly.
The layout has more elevation changes than many Florida courses and has a variety of holes.
Personally, I liked the layout when the nines were reversed. I like the finish of what is now the front nine much better than the current par3, short par4, par 3.
Love the Style
The course was great today! My brothers and I loved the hilly wide open style. The greens were mostly in good shape. Maybe one or two need attention, but overall they were in good shape. The bunkers were links style and were unique. It was cold today. So, it felt like Scotland! I’m glad we weren’t wearing kilts!
Bad greens
Greens were half painted dirt and thick fuzzy grass ,,,terrible shape. , Played on a Saturday at 11:30 sailed around the front side ,didnt know that they had a league going off the back in front of us. ,, waited every shot backed up the whole course . Who puts a league out on the weekend. ??
