Scotland Yards Golf Club

About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Golf18
Fun round. Pace of play OK. Waited on a few Ts.
Fairways thin in a few areas but playable. Greens nice but slow.
Scotland yards
Very nice course. New grass around most greens and some fairways. The cartpath for #2 crosses in front of the green for #9. A little strange. Otherwise very fair layout.
Okay golf
You will enjoy your round of golf. Here. The greens are medium and the fairways are mostly good but there are some bare spots on a few of the holes. Normally there is heavy play with slow rounds. There are two bald eagles that enjoy flying around the lake on number one tee.
A very nice course
Played many times. The improvements are much appreciated. Keep up the good work.
Rained out
In fairness we only got through 6 holes before we were rained out. We got a tee time on a Saturday with cart for $30. The greens were in great shape and most of the fairways leading up to green in good shape. The overall shape of course was not visually pleasing. Cart paths were non existent, and overall ambience of course lacking for me. I think they are trying to improve the course based on what I see of the greens and around it. I will give it another shot when weather is better
I’Ll BE BACK
Except for the work on 16 hole the course was almost excellent. Staff was very nice and I’ll be back, I hope!
Improved course
Improvements are making this course more enjoyable to play. They are in the process of installing water on most of the fairways which will make the course even better. Will play again.
Really improving, great course
They are doing a lot of improving to the course and still providing a great course
Fun course. Greens were good with lots of play to them.
Pace of play was reasonable 4:20. Greens have lots of break. Speed was ok. Lots of work on irrigation system
Course is being worked on so improvements are expected
Enjoyed the course. Good value on hot deal. I’ll go back.
Good value. Green’s reasonable course being worked on.
Some Holes were closed on the back 9 for irrigation installation. Still good value. Greens were good. Speed ok and lots of break. Friendly staff and people playing. Overall an enjoyable day.
Scotland
Course is doing major Reno which hinders your play somewhat on a few holes so far
They are putting in course irrigation which should make it nice in future but this should have been listed on GolfNow before you book tee time .
Also lots of local play which mini tournaments going on causing slow play with lots of people which again should be listed on GolfNow before tee time booked
Course is nice to play when you don’t have to deal with tons of people and course repairs going on
All this info should be listed every time on GolfNow so u can book someplace else before getting to course and finding out how bad it is to play that day
Great shape and getting better
Course is in great shape and with all the new irrigation they are putting in, I can see it getting better. Looks like they have put rye on the tee boxes and in front of the green. Makes it much nicer to play. 8th hole was closed today because of the irrigation they re installing but rest of the course is good.
Great staff ok course
This course has no driving range and is laid out like it was added after the homes showed up. Easy course so if you need to lower your handicap this is the place. The staff were very friendly almost family owned type of vibe
