Mt. Woodson Golf Club is one of San Diego County's most popular courses for a number of reasons, one being the spectacular setting. Nestled in the Ramona Valley, the course is sprawls across a dramatic landscape of towering oak trees, enormous granite boulders, and sparkling blue lakes. Nearly every hole on the golf course provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains and canyons. It is also known for being one of the most challenging and well maintained layouts in the area. The tight fairways and small greens demand accuracy. There are also plenty of interesting elevation changes throughout. The golf course offers true target-style golf that will test the shot-making abilities of even the most experienced players. One of the most unique features of the course is the 450-foot wooden bridge that winds through the treetops.

I like this course layout. It's steeper and more curved than the other courses, but it's fun. The mountain scenery was beautiful, and the cool and refreshing wind made me feel refreshed.

My wife and I were referred to Mt Woodson by a couple of the golf staff at a couple of the other San Diego courses we played. We're glad they pointed us to it. It's a short track (slightly under 6000 yards), but requires you to hit all the shots in your bag. Several spectacular views and memorable holes. The greens were in great shape and the fairways were good.

Fun Course with spectacular Views

You need a good course management to play Mt. Woodson. Nice to get some written advices from the pro shop. Course offers spectacular views in a fantastic nature with rolling hills for challenging up- and downhill shots. Cart path build along rocky hills und through dense forests, almost impossible to walk the long up and down connections between the single holes. But its fun to drive there with a cart. Some say it´s taget golf and you need a lot of balls to play there. It´s not the truth. My wife managed to play the whole round with the same ball. Mt. Woodson is a real fun course and is highly recommended to play there. Not to forget to mention the very friendly and supporting team of the course. Thank you all! We will come back!
