West at Fountains Country Club

About
Fountains Country Club offers three different 18-hole championship courses, the West, North, and South. The golf courses sprawl across 865 lushly landscaped acres that are part of a gated golf community. All of the courses were designed in the 1970s by the team of Robert Von Hagge and Bruce Devlin. Water hazards come into play several times throughout the course and there are also strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The golf course has some mild undulations but the terrain is mostly flat. All of the courses are player-friendly and diverse enough to accommodate a range of skill levels but conveniently, there are also five different sets of tees. In addition to the golf courses, Fountains boasts well conditioned practice facilities including putting greens, pitching areas, bunkers, and an expansive driving range.

Enjoyable and worth playing again.
First time playing this course. Won’t be our last. My wife both enjoyed the course. Conditions were good and layout was enjoyable.
Just ok
Booked this course based that it was a private country club and expected much more being it was dubbed as "member for a day". We weren't treated with much respect at all. No one explained where to go for the starter or anything for that matter. Neither the pro shop, bag attendant, or cart girl had any change. We wanted to tip for their services but they couldn't provide change. I felt bad but I wasn't tipping $20 for a $5 beer. The course itself was just average. It was very wet and they told us it was cart path only most of the time due to poor drainage. That should've been disclosed during booking. I never would have played there if I knew. Only saw the cart girl once. Would've hoped she came around again with change since I was extremely hot and needed refreshments being we walked a lot of the course. The greens rolled nice and were consistent. The bunkers were great. Signage could be better but we found the holes. For being a country club, I think it was just ok at best. I didn't get the feeling that it was a pristine country club atmosphere. Won't go back.
Fun course “Member for a Day”
Fun course, pretty much had the entire West course to myself. The course was in decent condition, but not great! I still had fun, started playing crappy, but finished very strong.
The Fountains is a great course.
My son and I played there. The course is in great condition. We played at a great pace. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
The Fountains is quality golf
I played the course with my youngest son as a reward for getting exceptional grades in school. The course is in great condition. The layout is very entertaining and difficult. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. I will play there again for sure!
Terrible conditons and experience
The course is in very rough condition. They brought in a new GM to fix the terrible overall conditions and experience at this club. So far not much has changed and the GM is not very responsive. A lot of their ammenities are closed or limited hours during the summer. Customer service is lacking.
Member for a Day NO Thanks
I dont have the time to post all my complaints. There are too many other courses in the area that are much better. Pass on this one
A very good shot makers course.
Great layout, very fair when played from the proper tees. Many birdie opportunities if you hit a good drive.
Greens are quick and roll true.
Thank you for Opening this course to GolfNow
Enjoyed my round there. Challenging. Some bare spots in fairways. Needs but water but playable. Nice layout
Disappointing
The hook for me was limited access to a Country Club for Golf Now members.
I was underwhelmed with the course condition, layout was poor, the signage was lacking to go to the next hole. To get to the next tee there many trips onto the street to find next tee. Between the 9th and 10th we were no where near the club house. They did not have a beverage food cart at all. Yes the water stops were abundant but we would have eaten & drank if convienient
Not too bad
Fairways a bit rough. Burned out. Greens were good and fast.
Fun course in good shape
Course was in good shape and fun /o play, greens we true and pretty fast. I would definitely play here.
Fountains West
Greens are fast and tricky. Teeboxes could use more grass. Staff is very nice. West Course goes all over the place, but directional signs are pretty good.
Faded gem, but west course still very good.
Interesting and challenging course with water or stragic challenges on every hole. No amenities except for range and cart attendant who passes by infrequently. Course itself well laid out as it winds through a substantial but very old development which appears at times to be a ghost town. South course now gone to development and most of the facilities are deserted. N.B. Your GPS will take you to an inattended residents-only entrance with a gate you cannot access. Nevertheless, would play again.
Worse management
We drove over a hour to play this course. We arrive and the pro shop staff says “unfortunately we can’t get you out today because golfnow screwed up and shouldn’t have posted the tee time. That was it. He never offered a discount or a round for a different day/time. Left us there with zero and didn’t care at all. I would hope management would read this and contact me to offer me something but I doubt it.
Very disappointing and unprofessional.
If I was around the corner I wouldn’t mind but I drove over an hour.
Stay private and don’t ever offer “member for a day” if this is how you are going to treat guests.
