About
Big Cypress Golf Club is part of a gated golf retirement community called Cypress Lakes. Conveniently located between Orlando and Tampa, the club offers two golf courses, the North and the South. The South Course is a championship layout that is more challenging than the executive-length North Course. Both courses are characterized by the abundance of water and swaying palms, offering the best of Florida golf. The South Course plays a long 6,680 yards from the back tees. The course presents a more demanding test than the North, appealing to more advanced players. Florida Golfer and Senior Golfer have recognized its challenging layout for its excellent conditions and design. Maintenance is a top priority at Big Cypress; on both courses the well manicured fairways and greens are consistently in good shape.

Great value and conditions
Played this course for the first time and was very impressed. Best value for your money in the area. Staff was very friendly and directed me to the first hole. Fairways a lush green and greens roll true. Will definitely be back for another round.
Quiet and serene
Friendly staff, pristine greens, well maintained course. Lots of wildlife on course. Not many sand traps which I avoided. Just enough water holes to make play interesting. Did not stay and eat at restaurant, cannot comment.
Excellent course
This is a very good value for money course , most tees fairways and greens are in good shape, the only thing we missed was the beverage cart, with this heat it is a must
Big Cypress South
Best kept secret in Central Florida. Great layout in the best condition in the area. A must play. Easily accessible off of I-4 in Lakeland on Rte 98.
Highland Reserve
One of my go to courses. Links style layout. No water to contend with, but course can challenge your skills.
Big Cypress
One of the best maintained courses in Central Florida. Great track with many challenging holes. Bring your A game. Several forced carry holes. One of my favorite courses.
OMG
It’s not often you see a high rates course actually live up to the rating. Place was in pristine condition. Cart path only today but an amazing track.
Always Great
Have enjoyed playing this course for many years. I am particularly grateful to the Pro Shop staff who graciously accommodated me when I showed up Wednesday for my Thursday tee time.. I meant to book Wednesday as I had a Doctor's appt on Thursday but somehow managed to mistakenly book the wrong day. Will never forget their effort to fix my mistake.
Not what it used to be
The course was in terrible condition. This was shocking because the course has always been nice. Also, the greens were aerated just a short time ago and there was no mention of that whatsoever. That is a dirty trick to charge full rate AND to also make no mention of that. However, that is not the only reason I rated this course in terrible condition. The fairways were poor as well and the general keep up of the course was just overall poor. The staff was awful. The ranger was a complete donkey. Extremely rude. Pro shop staff was inattentive. Overall just very surprised how much this place has gone downhill. I won’t be back and I clearly don’t recommend this course to anyone.

somewhat disappointed
Big Cypress gets rave reviews so we were excited to try it. Unfortunately they didn't inform us that half the course was closed for maintenance. Therefore we were paying to play the back nine twice.
Pace of play was good because the regulars knew about the situation.
Those nine holes were in great condition and the on course staff were helpful.
Course conditions must be posted if they expect continued good reviews from satisfied golfers.
