The Club at Venetian Bay
About
The Club at Venetian Bay is part of a unique residential community with a Mediterranean theme. Colorful buildings, mosaics, and Mediterranean vegetation surround the championship golf course. The biggest challenge for the designers was transforming what was formerly a cow pasture into a lush, challenging course. The design team of Clifton, Ezell, and Clifton seemed to have little trouble doing so. The front nine plays through the woods while the back nine is more open with a few links-style touches. The most prominent feature of this golf course is the abundance of sand bunkers. There are more than 100 strategically placed throughout. The bunkers present a formidable test but they are nicely balanced with ample landing areas. They are also geared more towards low handicappers, which means they aren't intended to kill your round.

Pace of play
If you're looking to play at 5 and 1/2 6-hour round this is the course you want to play they have no rangers took 2 hours to play the front nine three and a half hours to play The back nine because of no rangers they have GPS on the carts which goes straight to the clubhouse and nobody comes out and tells the people to pick up pay supply the greens need a lot of work you're putting through a lot of dead areas where they put fertilizer down not worth the money
The greens
You have a lot of greens where they have a lot of dead spots on them of course needs work it's not worth the price they're charging this course is a 40 maybe $45 course not a $70 course you want to play a nicer course I played one the other day called Cypress Head absolutely beautiful not a dead spot on it
Enjoyable course. Have played it over last number of years as green fee players
Greens were faster tand better than a couple of years ago.. we liked the course improvements..some bunkers removed, rough cleaned up. A good wide course for big hitters to enjoy.
We moved along nicely..a 2some rushed out infront of our 4some and a single behind us...so we kept up but it felt a bit rushed. The 2some and the single should have been put together. Tremendous slow up on 15 16,17 and 18.......it was windy and cold so we called it a day and drove in after 14 holes. Perhaps a marshall could roam to make sure slow players..not members but young men...could be told to keep moving.
NSB jewel
Wonderful first time play for 7 players. Despite lots of rain over the weekend we had cart path only, and finished in just over 4 hours. Golf shop staff, Joe, was superb in getting our group off back to back. All of us report a rating of 10 out of 10 for the range, putting green,,course design and joy to play, the Club pub, and bag drop. CU again.
OVER RATED
Fairways not very lush. Greens terriable buurnt and rough. Probably not going back.
Fun course
Fairways in good shape. Greens had been sanded, but good except for that. Bunkers have been new sand and in good shape. Wide Fairways, big greens. Fun with some challenging holes.
Course in best shape this year
Greens had been punched with small holes, this effected putting. Sand traps need major work. Hard pan with some having standing water. Tee boxes and fairways in good shap.
Great Golf Option
Venetian Bay offers great golf on a well tended, challenging course and a first class drinking and dining experience afterward. All of the course folks and serving staff are competent, confident and gracious. A model for all golf clubs.
Great grass
The fairways have the nicest grass I’ve seen in a while. Greens are in great shape and roll. They are also quite fast.
Very nice Day out!
It was our first time playing the course. We were happy to play a course with woods, water, pretty nice traps, well kept fairways, good greens and excellent staff! A gentleman greeted us in the parking lot and gave us a cart right there (confirming our tee time). The course itself is perfect for all sorts of challenges! We played form the whites and there were three more options adding to the difficulty. Greens were fast and outside of two of them, (some streaks in them for some reason) putting was true! All in all, a great outing for two golfers that carry modest handicaps!
