Rocky Bayou Country Club

Course was in great shape. The greens were smooth and quick. A great layout with great amenities like range balls, water, divot mix, and great bar/restaurant. We play every time we are in town!

Wow what a great course at a great price. Played 4 different courses ranging from $179 to $109 and this one was the must enjoyable. Had a great time 3:30 hours of play. I’ll be back.

The food was great and the course is in excellent condition!

Managed to get a hot deal to play Rocky Bayou. Its a fabulous course with some very interesting holes. The course itself was in great condition, even given we had heavy rain the previous night. The greens are amazing - lightening fast and very true. The staff and members are amazingly friendly and the bar serves great food. Overall, a thoroughly good day and a memorable round of golf.

I played here for the first time today and enjoyed every minute! Fairways, tee boxes and greens were in great condition, pace was good, and staff was friendly. I’ll definitely play here again when I’m back in the area!

Good course conditions. Luckily, pace of play was fine for early afternoon.

Not a terribly long course from the white tees at 5900. It stretches out to 6900 from the tips. Tee boxes are okay. No giant divots or bare ground. Obvious they move the tee markers often. Finely cut allies between the tees makes for a nice touch. Fairways are in good shape. No weeds or bare spots. They keep the Bermuda rough cut down, too. THANK YOU! The greens are very, very nice and the holes were freshly cut (nice!). They also use those plastic ring inserts on the holes. I don’t mind them if they are installed properly…and lo and behold THEY WERE! It was a very enjoyable 18 holes. There is a nice big practice green and a decent chipping and pitching area as well as practice bunkers. They even have a bunker on the range so you can practice fairway bunkers shots. You don’t find that anywhere! My only complaint: mats on the driving range.

We stayed in Panama City Beach, all the courses around us were charging $100+ to play. Rocky Bayou was $50 and was in better shape than all the courses charging so much money. Greens were in great shape, no imperfections anywhere. It’s a fun layout with reachable par 5’s.The course course was well manicured and bunkers were in great shape. They had iced bottle water out on the course for us. Staff was friendly. Definitely recommend driving out to play this course.

It’s a bit of a drive from the Florida beaches to this country club in Niceville, but it’s worth the commute. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens are in good shape, and the course lay-out including the numerous water hazards make every stroke a challenging one. Pace of play is ok; there are plenty of club members out on the 18 holes. I’d come back for sure when in the area next time.

First time playing around Sandestin, and after some heavy rains, most courses were very soft and/or cart path only this week and the greens were pretty slow. But they still wanted hefty prices. A local suggested Rocky Bayou as a higher ground alternative further from the coast and it was great. Much dryer ground and quicker greens and had some great uphill and downhill holes for a course without much elevation to work with. It also had very good sand in the bunkers. Easily my favorite course of the week and reasonably priced. See Gracie in the bar for a gal with personality.

Course was excellent again. Only complaint was booking tee times 7 minutes apart is going to make for slow play. If you have a foursome in front of you, all players behind will be slow and checking up on why you are slow is not something you can control. We love to play this course. Kudos to all that make it great.

Ok I really like the course and it’s fair but challenging. I’ve play there on an average of once a week for a few months and until this month I always had my own cart which speeds up play. I guess the cart cops must have been on vacation or something but they are back now. With Covid still a big problem many people don’t want to share a cart. With that said maybe the cart patrol will not be in an all out enforcement mode.

Well worth the 30 minute trip from Destin. Older course with some challenging holes. Well maintained with nice size fairways. Greens were recovering from aeration but they were rolling smooth. I didn’t use the clubhouse or restaurant but it’s semi private with members hanging out. I will come back and play again.

Good layout. Good pace of play. Greens have recovered well from aeration several weeks ago. Only negative was they charged $18 for an additional cart for our wives to ride along.
