About
The Poinciana Golf Club has recently re-opened under NEW MANAGEMENT and has done extensive renovations to the golf course including NEW GREENS.
Located in western Lake Worth, Poinciana Country Club is one of several great short courses that south Florida has to offer. At just over 4,000 yards, it is a quick and challenging test of your target golf skills. The greens are small with large breaks and there are swaying palms lining the fairways. The layout consists of par 3s that range from 103 to 172 yards and par 4s that are approximately 300 yards. There are strategically placed hazards throughout the golf course that offer good short game practice for more advanced players. Poinciana Country Club can conveniently be played in less than four hours. The golf course is still gentle enough for beginners though. It is popular amongst locals but still a well kept secret from the rest of south Florida.

Golfer Reviews
Hot Deal Users Beware!
They really don't like golf now hot deal customers and don't mind showing it. Won't go back.
Disappointed
We arrived at the course 15 minutes before our golf now booking and although there was no one anywhere in sight on the course we were told to wait for another twosome who had also booked online. They arrived (a nice husband and wife) and we began our round which can only be described as extremely slow and our usual two and a half hour round was stretched into four hours.During the round we encountered no other players in front of us or behind us.I believe we were made to wait because of our discount rate and the courses lack of business.Very disappointing.
Coming Along
The new owners are doing a nice job of restoring the course .The course is as green as I have ever seen it in the last 5 years
since I first played it.Good Job.
Rude staff
I played this course through a golf discount membership. I was early for my tee time and was told I needed to wait until my tee time. No problem there, despite sitting and observing that 0 golfers teed off in the 25 minutes that I waited. At the appointmented tee time my husband and I and a third person who joined us went to the tee box. The woman who checked us in ran over and started screaming that we couldn’t tee off yet as we had to wait for her paying customers. We paid but not directly to the course. She was rude and made the experience at the course uncomfortable.
The course was not well maintained. If the course is using third party booking agents due to poor attendance, some thought should be given to how they treat customers. I wouldn’t play the course again even if it truly was free.
Making Progress
The new owner is doing a great job of bringing the
course back from neglect.
Much Improved
Finally returned to Poinciana after about 6 months, due to dislike for the shape of the greens at that time. Must say it is much improved since last April. The course is somewhat challenging and layed out nicely. The greens are back to normal, so putting was a pleasure. It was worth the wait and we would definitely return.
A good course for the money
A good course for the money, given that we got a good rate through golfnow.com. We played on the first afternoon that brought temperatures below 80° and in Florida that's a great golf day! We had a good time and were able to take our time because there were a few players on the course. Sorry to say, a few greens need some serious work. A couple Tee-boxes were hard to find, probably due to a recent hurricane blowing some of the signs around. The bunkers and some of the water hazards made a few holes very challenging. However generally fairways made the course very forgiving. We would definitely play Poinciana again.
Coming along.
new owners are bringing the course back. played the course about ayear ago and it was in bad shape. but it was much better this year. still needs better irrigation but it getting better.
poin
they are bringing it along nicely after years of neglect,
Not Now!!!
Played Poinciana on May 18th...was quite disappointed. Only able to play the front 9 (we were asked to play it twice for our "18 holes"), and the greens were in terrible shape. We figured they were under renovation and can understand it if they were, but they should close down instead until they're done. The greens seemed as if they had just planted seeds and they were just starting to grow. LOUSY!!! and S-L-O-W
Hopefully, by the fall they'll have the place back in shape. In the meantime...BUYER BEWARE.
Nice little course
This is a par 64 executive course. Current owners are trying to improve course after years of neglect. Not there yet but it is slowly coming around. Should play winter rules.
Hi Longballdon. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to leave us a review! We appreciate the feedback and support. Hope to see you out on the course!
This course is a great value
Although this is a short course, the greens are in good condition, and the layout is very nice. The t boxes could be improved, but all in all it is a pleasant way of spending a day.
Hi Mspiro. Thanks for the kind review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your time out on the course, and we hope to see you back again soon!
Quick round
For the price we paid, its hard to be disappointed with this golf course. I enjoy playing a different course everyday while on vacation. I'm always willing to try something new & this course offered that experience. This course did not require my driver to leave the golf bag very often. Not enough par 4's & 5's for my taste. I will say the greens were very challenging to hit due to being small & well guarded by sand/water. You'll need to be able to spin your ball.
Hi u1539094. We appreciate the feedback. Thanks for coming out and playing a round with us.
Good for short game practice.
Able to use driver on a couple of par 5 holes. Good for an executive course. Fairways quite bare, bone dry, and sandy. Greens better than in past, but still slow and not as true as one might like.
Hi MGolini2. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We are happy to hear that you had a nice time out on the course. We hope to see you again soon!
Hi Joe5295312. We apologize that our course was not up to your standards. We appreciate the feedback and will continue to make improvements to the course. We hope you can give us another try in the future.
