The Poinciana Golf Club has recently re-opened under NEW MANAGEMENT and has done extensive renovations to the golf course including NEW GREENS.
Located in western Lake Worth, Poinciana Country Club is one of several great short courses that south Florida has to offer. At just over 4,000 yards, it is a quick and challenging test of your target golf skills. The greens are small with large breaks and there are swaying palms lining the fairways. The layout consists of par 3s that range from 103 to 172 yards and par 4s that are approximately 300 yards. There are strategically placed hazards throughout the golf course that offer good short game practice for more advanced players. Poinciana Country Club can conveniently be played in less than four hours. The golf course is still gentle enough for beginners though. It is popular amongst locals but still a well kept secret from the rest of south Florida.

Don't bother
The course looks like hadn't been cut in weeks. Dirt and leaves all over the greens and the areas to practice are a joke.
So so at best
Older course wound into a condominium complex. Fairways are mostly weeds with lots of brown patches. Desperately needs irrigation. Greens are rough with only a few being true. Not that challenging but okay for a practice round. It wasn't worth more than the hot deal price.
Greens have improved greatly since last year, overall conditions also.
Value for money very good. Good course to practice to short irons. Staff very friendly.
Fun to play with my wife.

Great Friendly Staff

OK Greens, poor fairways
This would be a very nice short course (Par 64) if the fairways had grass. Most of the fairways are sand and weeds. They keep the greens in decent shape, but the rest of the course is in poor shape,

Interesting short course
We discovered this course after trying other "executive" course, and we find it to be the more interesting of them all. Par 64 ,with 3 par 5 and 4 par 4, makes you fell like on a regular course. And we got a good price, so we had a great day.

New Owners
I have played this course when it was in terrible shape.The new husband and wife owners have made great strides.The greens and traps are well maintained and r the highlight of the course. The fairways and roughs are now being attended to
The par threes from the back and middle tees are extremely challenging. The par 4 and 5s also offer a challenge because of trap placements.
I would recommend this course and look forward to the further improvements..

Complete waste of time
Avoid at all costs, a value price would be 3 dollars and i would still be hesitant to pay that.
Un bon petit terrain de pratique
Quand même cher pour une normale de 64. Car on peut avoir un 18 trous à normal 72 pour le même prix. Le terrain était très sec, pourtant il pleut presque tous les jours ces temps-ci.
Le LAYOUT est intéressant avec de belles difficultés. Nous avons appréciés pouvoir jouer seul (2), et n'avons eu aucune attente. Nous avons eu la chance de partir avant un groupe.
You get what you pay for.
I've played this course numerous times. It has changed hands 3 times in the past 4 years. Price keeps going up but course condition isn't quite catching up with the price. The greens and traps are in better condition than last year however the fairways are a mix of bare hard ground and mixed grasses and weeds. It's hard to take a divot here. Fairway yardage markers are present but there are no tee box yardage signs. Carts are ok but ours was lacking brakes that worked only with the full force of all your leg and foot. There are no bag covers on the back of the carts so if it starts raining you'd better have your own. I would only play this course for the $20 Golf Now Deal. To pay the regular $38+tax just won't happen.
Par 64 executive course
The course was challenging for an executive course. However, they are working on improving the conditions which weren't your average greens or fairways. It's a good practice course--bunkers and water come into play. However, the grass was questionable as to real fairways and greens. It was only worth the $17 to play.
