Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club - Panther/Bobcat Course
About
There are three nines at the Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club, which can be played individually, consecutively, or as three different 18-hole combinations. Each nine has a unique layout with different challenges but all share the same lush landscape covered with stately trees and water features. The Panther/Bobcat combination offers a mix of narrow and wide fairways, some of which are lined with trees. A few strategically placed bunkers come into play along the greensides and there are also water hazards coming into play on a number of holes. Located just northwest of Tampa along the west Florida coast, the nines represent the best of Florida golf. Silver Dollar also boasts some of the area's most affordable rates, which makes the versatile layouts doubly appealing.

We can then all over the course Photo submitted by Gilbert3585586 on 05/27/2013

When we arrived we were informed 9 holes had been shut down. Arrive at the first green we found it to be brown due to herbicide. The 3 additional greens were the same way. The greens that were not brown were full of holes and areas with no grass. The fairway were sparse as well in many places. We have a weekly outing Sunday morning. This course will not be in the rotation again. I believe the course should be flagged on Golf Now it was that bad!
Cow pasture golf
Greens and Fairways were not up to par. Too many flags on course grass overgrown in fairways.
Nice place to play
Great value for the money. Not the greatest condition course, with very bad tee boxes but good greens.
Round took 4 hours and 40 minutes. Ugh
Silver Dollar
Generally in ok shape. Some T boxes were sparce and a couple of fairways in need of more grass. Pace was slow. We like the layout and always play a round here.
Tough course
The pace was great. Enjoyed the course. Wish me game was better. We will be back.
Goat ranch
Almost unplayable. And it was $35. Played cheaper courses that at least had patches of grass to hit off of. Here you try and find some weeds to hit off of. Tee boxes almost non existent and same with anything around the green and sometimes the green. The range gf shooting clays scattered all across it and got into the grooves of my clubs. Didn’t even finish my basket of balls once I noticed. Could be a great course if they put some money and time into it.
Great value course. Some greens and tee boxes could be in better shape but the course has great value for what you pay. Always in the rotation of courses in the area
Don’t play early
Was first group to tee off on Gator and now I know why it was a “hot deal”. Fairways and especially greens were drenched (holes were filled with water and greens were almost unputtable due to puddles and grass). The back 9 was the complete opposite. The back 9 fairways had little to no grass while the greens were in excellent condition.
Overall the layout was fun and challenging but the course conditions brought the experience way down.
Don't waste your money
I've been playing this course at least once a year for the past 20.
I have never seen it in such terrible condition.
From the tee box to the fairways and the greens. All are nothing but dirt and weeds. VERY DISAPPOINTING
Snowbird
Played this course for the first time. The greens were scattered with dead spots and many were in need of care. Most of the tee boxes were rough. It would've been nice to have some signs directing golfers to the next hole...like on the 8th going to the 9th?
I wouldn't play this course again.
