Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club - Panther/Bobcat Course

About
There are three nines at the Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club, which can be played individually, consecutively, or as three different 18-hole combinations. Each nine has a unique layout with different challenges but all share the same lush landscape covered with stately trees and water features. The Panther/Bobcat combination offers a mix of narrow and wide fairways, some of which are lined with trees. A few strategically placed bunkers come into play along the greensides and there are also water hazards coming into play on a number of holes. Located just northwest of Tampa along the west Florida coast, the nines represent the best of Florida golf. Silver Dollar also boasts some of the area's most affordable rates, which makes the versatile layouts doubly appealing.

We can then all over the course Photo submitted by Gilbert3585586 on 05/27/2013
If you can play here, you can play Anywhere.
Fairways and greens and tee boxes need a lot of work. But financially, they probably cannot afford it.
I go occasionally.
I have played there many times in the past. I have found the course to be in great condition. I like to play there when the snow birds have gone home.
Greens that are brown
A couple of the greens were completely brown and some of the tee boxes are all dirt and there was a tree down at one of them
Go somewhere else!
For the afternoon rate of 35 my foursome could have gone to about 6 other courses that are far superior! Pro shop guy set our expectations telling us Gator course was in terrible shape. Dirt and weeds throughout fairways, greens were either burnt or squishy, ground was so hard if made it impossible to hit a half decent shot. Last time coming here.
Greens and tee boxes oh my
Really have some work to do on the greens and tee boxes. Fun track though
Course is being repaired
Staff was helpful and friendly. Tee boxes didn't have much grass and weren't level. Most fairways had bare spots. In fairness we haven't had much rain this year. I'll try again in a few months.
Better
Second time. Played the yellow tees (under my max of 6000 Yds). MUCH better for me. Still a LOT of water and gators!
Needs work
The greens were terrible it felt like I was walking through a marsh on the greens. The course layout is very confusing ( I didn’t finish the course I was over it)
Brutal
First time. Should have played from the yellow tees, not the whites. 6100 yds from the white, which is above my limit...(I'm 71 years old). Ponds EVERYWHERE, even in the middle of the fairways...greens were pretty good. Better than many I have played here in Florida. Lots of gator sightings too!
I will be back. But I will pay from the yellow tees!
Challenging but fun course.
It was my first time at this course and I was by myself ended up getting paired with two older guys who were super nice and guided me through most of the course. I really enjoyed it greens are great you got to really tap it in or it just keeps going. Tee boxes were kept up with and the food was great!
Challenging but very nice course
First time playing here today. It was challenging but with the help of the other golfers around me they let me know how the course is and where to put my ball in the best place possible. All around helpful and one of the best rounds I’ve played so far
Going downhill
The course has gone from a 3 to a 2-2.5 because of the tee boxes and fairways. No grass in 25-30% of the fairways and at least 50% of teeboxes were a mess. The greens on the other hand were in very good condition.
