Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Marsh/Creek Course

This is high fire, one of the nicest semi in the north port area I would recommend it to any golfer if you haven’t already tried it

Course in great shape - good layout, a little variety, nice greens and lush fairways. Called pro shop day before - booked as a single. Supposed to be paired with two other guests. Ended up going out solo at 7:24. All good. Finish front 9 in 1:40. Come around to 10th hole (1st on Creek 9) and there are 2 foursomes on tee box and another in the fairway. Starter/ranger tells me “it’s gonna be a little while. Got 2 two somes coming up next. You can go out after them.” Says it in a way that I am lucky to go out after all these people. One of the first groups out as a solo and now I’m stuck behind 3 foursomes and possibly another. Very poorly managed. I’m quite reasonable. But I’m not waiting 45 mins at the turn to play a 3 hour back 9. I left - $75 down for 9 holes with a sour taste in my mouth. Wish it was different. Left to play 18 at Bobby Jones - a single friendly, public golf haven!!

In great condition! Friendly staff. Will definitely return.

The greens had been patched some had bare spots for that price this time of year the course should have been perfect.

There was no wind on this day and it was hotter than the Amazon rainforest. Not to mention we had to wait on almost every hole due to a company event that they put us behind. I do love the course layout and will be coming back, just the way it goes I guess.

Great course, conditions were great as always. Was a bit dry in spots but everywhere is in need of rain

. With three nines, it offers a variety of holes. The practice facility offers several putting greens, areas to work on pitching and chipping as well as a driving range with good grass and a couple different teeing areas. I wish this course were closer to my home address I would immediately become a member.

Course is in fantastic shape. Add in the included driving range, pitching area, and practice greens makes it the real deal.

Gary came and yelled at us about the group in front of us being 12 miuses behind pace and told us he made them skip a hole. I spent the rest of my round looking over my shoulder waiting to be told to skip a hole and if that happened we would have a problem. I felt so rushed I wouldn't even get a drink from the cart girl.

Very disappointing that Gary is so rude to the players. I absolutely appreciate someone maintaining pace of play but he is too much. I personally drove from st petersburg to play this round. I'm not a slow player. But to feel rushed the entire day absolutely cost me some strokes and a couple balls. Ironically that slowed me down. I don't think I would make the dive again if I can't relax and enjoy my round.

Beyond that the course is beautiful amd in great shape. The practice range is top notch.

I played here 3-4 months ago and we had to play the same 9 twice as there was a women's tournament going on. We had no prior knowledge and would not have played there. I felt some compensation was due but we paid full price. Not a friendly attitude.

I’m surprised the carts are so old and in poor shape. No GPS??!! Most every upscale course has it. Finally many of my friends are older golfers and the new cart layout keeps you very far from the greens. Some of them have difficulty walking long distances and now with the very hot weather they play other courses.
