Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Marsh/Creek Course

Everything was outstanding!! The practice facilities were the best around. All staff was super friendly and helpful as this was the first time playing here. This will be my preferred course in the area.

The course is always in very nice condition. The Oak 9 hole side was challenging. Staff at the course is very hospitable and the rangers were fun to chat with. Beverage cart service was nicon time and even had hot dogs. A very enjoyable round indeed. I will return to play many more times.

Only a few issues, no food early and two greens were in bad shape. Didn’t see a beverage cart before we finished. You have to wait to play your second nine holes, if you finish playing the front nine early.

As in other courses near Sarasota, my major complaint is the USGA rating, which is so long that you have no chance to maintain your handicap, even if you play well. This course is another handicap killer. I chose to play white tees and failed to break 90 (greens and green complexes were tougher than most courses I have played). If I played the shorter tees, I could have scored much better, but the rating is low that the handicap would be crushed regardless. Overall it is a very challenging course with an interesting layout, good amenities, and decent value. If that sounds good to you, give it a try!

Course was in good shape. Pace of play was great! Great range and short game complex which is nice since range balls come with the green fee.

Very good course and difficult. Starter very friendly but details on difficulty for first time players could be beneficial. One of the best courses in the area.
