About
Opened in 1922, Mayfair Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Florida and it's still the only course in the historic city of Sanford. Over the years, it has hosted a number of famous players including Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer. The layout is wide open with a traditional design that is player friendly enough to appeal to novices and experienced golfers alike. Like most older course designs, the fairways are wide but the approaches aren't very forgiving. Water hazards come into play on over half of the holes and you might be surprised by a few subtle but tricky elevation changes. Mayfair Country Club is not a formidable test by any means, but there are a few challenging holes that will make you think.

Fairways need some love
While there are good renovations happening and the greens are looking better. The fairways are too hard to hit from. A little more watering.
Constant improvement
I am very pleased with how they’ve been reinvesting into this course. I told myself a year ago I would never be back and I’m glad I gave it another shot. A few tee boxes to improve but they’re working on it and I’m happy with course in total
Fun course in good condition.
I’m upset at myself for not having tried this course sooner. I really enjoyed it and it was well maintained. The greens are just the right size and rolled true. They are clearly putting money into the course and it seems that the new clubhouse is almost complete. The cost of the round was fair.
Good golf experience, far improved from the past
Played Mayfair for the first time in a few years but I grew up playing this golf course so I wasn't sure what to expect but used the reviews as my guide.
I'll be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by how much better the golf course was. The greens rolled really well and looked awesome, and while there wasn't a lot of frill outside of the fairways - you can tell they focus on the most important spots.
Still some work to be done, but I'm hopeful that once the clubhouse is done - they'll focus a little on some of the fairways.
If you're looking for a fun relaxed round of golf - give it a try!
Scruffy
Cup holes from previous days were a bit shallow and some cup holes being used had pulled up edges causing ball to deflect from hole instead of going in.UGH
Great course
Love the open layout the course has and the maintenance is excellent
Needs so work
They are building a new club house but the greens are burned. The fairways needed some better mowing… it just looked like it needs so love
Descent Course for the money
The course clubhouse area is undergoing renovations so parking was a bit of a mess and getting to hole one. The tee boxes were good and most of the greens were fair. Overall it was descent and I would play there again.
Better every time
This was the second time I played there. It’s getting better every time. Tee boxes need some work but overall it’s a good course. G to he place is still under construction but it’s moving along. Will play again this week!
Mayfair 1922
This course is a great one for all levels. Not long. But the rough distance.. If you go in the next few months. Understand stand that parking is a little rough as they are building thier new club house. Which already looks beautiful. The staff are more than friendly.. Cannot wait to play it again.
Clubhouse is getting near completion
They’re still working on the clubhouse and the parking lot is still dirt and pretty muddy where I parked the other day. Course is in OK shape. Most of the greens are real good. The Fairways some places you gotta drive slow or
shake you out of the cart I mean really rough but Certainly worth checking out if you’ve never played it before I play at about once a month.
Greens were nice and smooth
The course was much improved from my previous experience.
