Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

So much potential

Maybe it’s just time for overseeding/yearly maintenance but players here definitely dont to fix their ball marks and fill their divots. Great deal for only $35 though

5 hour round

Played as a foursome behind a single, the single had two open holes in-front of them and our round took 4 hours and 50 minutes. 90 degree cart path rule in effect and not able to drive off the path on the back nine. Over 100 degrees outside and no coolers or ice for the carts ,the restaurant/ concessions facility is only open Fridays and weekends.Staff is friendly.

Challenging But Slow

After 4 hours, we had only made it to the 12th hole. I had to leave because it was getting dark. Other than the pace the course is fun to play.

Hello, mantek. Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve. Very Slow.

We had to wait for 5-10 minutes at ever holes . It took 3hours 15 minutes to finish first 9 holes.

We called pro shop to complain about this slow play but prosho already closed.

Eventually we couldn’t finish 18holes.

We need to get rain check for this.

It is really bad ^^^^

Your golf course need to fix it.

My friend drive about 1:30minutes from

LA.

Great golf course...with only a few issues

This was the first time I've played this golf course in over 7 years so it was essentially new to me again. First, the course conditions were spectacular. Fairways and greens were in great shape, but the rough was a bit thick. The traps also had decent sand which is always good. Great course layout, conditions, and great weather will/should always equate to a great time. But I say that with an asterisk. Despite "ideal" conditions, play was excessively SLOW. We wrapped up our front 9 in 3 hours, 7 minutes. There was no marshall out there and waiting at every hole was incredibly frustrating. There were two threesomes in front of us, and we were a foursome. Yet, we were on the tail of the two groups the entire round. I am by no means a scratch golfer, and I also realize that beginners need to start somewhere. But there was no golf etiquette and the groups in front of us should have picked up after laying 10 150 yards out on a par 4. But I don't blame the threesomes (since, likely they didn't know proper golf etiquette being newbies) but I blame the course management for not having a marshall out there managing pace of play. Fortunately, the back 9 played a bit faster and ended up finishing 18 in 5 hours, 40 minutes. Still far from ideal, but we were seriously on pace for a > 6 hour round after 9. I've played quite a few rounds in my lifetime, and my record for excessively slow play was this round at 5:40. Also, Tukwet is out there. It's not really close to any major city so commute time to and from the golf course can be lengthy. But I guess this varies since I'm sure many of those golfers actually lived in Beaumont as well.

Despite of my criticism of slow play and distance, I would still recommend this course because slow play can happen anywhere I guess. It's just the luck (or unluck) of the draw. But given the good weather conditions, seems like everyone wanted to go out and play. Next time, please just have a marshall out there as a courtesy to your patrons.

everything was great. we played Legend course, only thing we noticed is that first 9 holes were much more fun, second 9 holes was kind of boring and we noticed there isn't any water surroundings around the course, if you had some kind of water hazard course, that would've been spectacular course, thumps way up !

Condition horrible

The layout is reasonable but overall the course is poorly maintained. Casual water in September is a stretch and the bunkers are UNPLAYABLE and in their current condition be subject to some sort of local rule. When I say unplayable I mean as hard as a dirt cart path with the possibility of club damage lurking with each swing. I understand that the goal is to stay out of the bunker but to have little or no possibilty to get up and down is severe. The SCGA should be embarrassed to hold a competition there.

Decent Course, Service needs Improvement

We came out here for a buddy’s 30th birthday.

The gentleman at the pro shop was on his phone and uninterested.

The bar was closed since it was a weekday which is reasonable. There was nowhere to buy drinks or food on a hot day.

When we arrived at the starter, there was no one to be found for 10 minutes. The starter finally services us and gives us our carts. He forgets to give us keys. He then disappeared again when we go ask for the keys.

We then start the round at Champions Course, and the cart lady is nowhere to be found. We call the pro shop to try to get a hold of her, and we continuously get transferred to a closed department. They use a third party service where an international agent answers the phone.

We spent the entire front nine trying to get a hold of the cart lady for drinks and snacks and we finally and encountered her in the back nine.

The cart lady was sweet and saved the day. Everyone else was not so helpful.

The course was decent, but the service was surprisingly very poor that day. It wasn’t worth the drive.
