About
Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

Course is Challenging but fair
Staff is very friendly at check in, the carts are clean and fully charged, And the starter gets you on the course for your tee time to ensure a good pace or play.
Birthday round with wife
I’ve played the course several times and love the layout. My main complaint is that the bunkers were in very bad shape and basically no sand in them. All were more like waste bunkers. Still like the course overall.

Great layout providing an amazing challenge.
Greens were quite slow... Although there were no pinch marks I believe they are recovering from a recent punch. Pretty smooth though.
Bunkers were marginally better from the concrete they seem to be most times we play here. Other than a few being filled with water, the dry ones were playable.
Portions of the tee boxes, fairways and rough were a mix between dry, wet and soaked in spots but generally good for the most part.
We seem to keep getting a cart that takes seizures as it attempts to regulate you speed. If you get motion sick... Beware.
Overall had a blast since in mid afternoon we appeared to be the first out on the course after a tournament was done. 3hr round baby!

What’s up with the grass in the sand traps? Omg. I like the medium deep rough and the rest of the course.

Slow Play
Almost 5 1/2 hr play. Need to have the Marshal move players looking for there balls in the brush. Last par 3 on Champion couse. The the ahead of me was climbing the hills in the brush looking for there balls. Need to keep.pace. Not fair to golfers who have proper golf values.

Disappointed and overhyped
This course has the longest wait and round time of my year. I do not usually play weekends but was there with a buddy. First, let me start with the tall blonde girl in checkin-in, I asked if she enjoys the course. Her response was I do not golf which tells me they hire anybody lol maybe for her look. Thats fine but I kind of feel people who work at golf courses should have some type of skill or interest in the place they are working for which was a bad sign off the bat. The course itself looks like it has lot of amenities but way too crowded. Players everywhere in practice range. It doesnt seem organized and that was evident with the pace with high handicappers shooting the ball left and right making it downright annoying to even be on the course. I come to learn and get better, also to enjoy my time with nature and friends. We drove from over an hour but was not worth our gas for this type of experience. I will say the food is pretty good inside clubhouse. We play once a week but we will definitely not come back to this type of golf course again.
Champions course
Great time golfing pretty good bang for your buck greens are fast , fairways are decent tee boxes fairly maintained bunkers have some growth in them . Pace of play really good had two doubles a head of myself and one behind me managed to keep a fun and competitive pace through out the time of play .

Steady pace
Play was steady greens where a little fast tee boxes good dand bunkers a little over grown but for the price very legit.

very fun course
Really only two reasons I didn’t give it five stars, one is the greens were pretty slow from being plugged a week or so before, and two is because a lot of the bunkers Were super hard in the bottom, not enough soft sand. Other than that I really like this course it was the second time I played here , I still haven’t played the other course, next time I will try it.
