Enjoyable Dye course
I enjoyed my day on this Perry Dye course. Conditions of tees and fairways could be better, but for what you are charged to play one cannot be surprised.
Layout is difficult off the tee and typically more forgiving around the greens. Greens are not over done and are in great condition.
I enjoyed the 18th hole shaped like the continent of Australia. Course has changed names and this green has ties to the codesigner of the course.

Get a yardage book
The club house is very nice and the pro shop seemed fully stocked. The pro shop staff, cart staff, and starter were very friendly and informative. We paid an extra $6 on top of our greens fees for a small bucket of range balls and the lunch special. The driving range turf was nice but we wondered how they are able to pick up balls from a range that is in great need of being mowed. The range balls could use a good washing as well. No visible yardages were stated on the range but there were colored posts for your range finder. The first two holes are pretty straight forward. However, first timers should get a yardage book or at least have the course layout in front of them as THIS IS A POSITION golf course. If you miss a fairway or green you best miss it on the correct side or you will add an extra degree of difficulty. Once we learned that, we found the course to be a fun challenge. There are several blind tee shots and several risk/reward holes. The greens were smooth and rolled true but were also very firm with several wedge shots landing on the slightest of downslopes easily rolling off the green. It is kind of a Pete Dye course without the railroad ties. We were there on a weekday and the staff told us there was not a beverage cart on the course. I hope they have one on the weekends. But it was nice they let us know to take drinks with us. After the round we had the lunch special which surprised us with lots of options. We had the pulled pork sandwich and quesadilla. Both were large portions and very good. The restaurant staff is very attentive and pleasant. This is a course that makes you want to play it again because after the first round you know what you could have done better!

For your next visit, please download and try our free app. You can scan the QR code in the golf shop, golf cart, or just search for it in your store. It has a built in GPS with images of each hole that you can touch to get yardages to any point. That will make your next round a lot easier as you are correct in stating this is a position course! Thin fairways
The staff is fantastic, from the person that checks you in to the staff in the restaurant.. the greens rolled beautifully but the fairways were thin. As a local, we're spoiled to play this course in the summer and early fall in under 3 hours.. less when we are 2some.. today was brutal.. played the first 7 holes in a little over an hour and 3 and 1/2 hours the last 11.. It was brutal.. to top it off a 2some on 16 had their cart die on them and they walked 17 and 18. Didn't let anyone play thru.. We'll be back after Easter for sure.
Thank you for your review. We did have a very busy winter season this year and it did put a bit more wear on the golf course than normal. We also have had an extremely dry spring. The crew is working hard to improve the course and we expect when the rains finally come the course will come around. Hope to see you again soon.
Needs Tender Loving Care
Divots all over the fairways. The players do not use the seed sand provided with the carts to fill up the divot holes. Patchy greens and fairways.
Great layout. Waterholes everywhere, making it fun. Hope for rain to make it green and lush.
Thank you for your review! We had a very busy winter and also a lot of frosty mornings. That caused the turf to completely shut down during the winter, which is not common this far south. That did take a toll on the turf from play and from cart wear. However, now that growing season is here, the crew is working hard to get the course back into great shape! Nice course
Good place to get in a round. Wonder about impact of new housing construction on front nine.

Poor
Poor to sad conditions on what is a great layout. Greens ok but not great like other reviews. Tee boxes, fairways, rough and traps are embarrassingly bad if I was the head greens keeper.
Zero over seed, bare spots and hard pan everywhere. Hopefully with the increase in home building around the course, ownership takes some pride and puts the money back into the course
Thank you for offering us some feedback on your experience at the course. You are correct in identifying that we do not over seed the golf course. Doing so negatively impacts the course conditions in the spring and we are far enough south that our Bermudagrass typically continues growing all winter, making overseed unnecessary. However, this year we had a dozen frosts which is very unusual for our part of Florida. That did take a toll on the course. Our maintenance team is working very hard to bring the course back to the great conditions we expect. We hope you will give us another chance once some rains come through.

Course is in great shape. You have to play the tips don't waste your time on the shorter tees

Great layout. Very slow pace of play. Course needs some TLC

Lost balls
Very challenging course. Hit 8 shots OB, but only lost 5 balls. The tee boxes are not the best, but who really cares about that. Greens are in perfect condition. Water everywhere on the back nine. Don't listen to the negative reviews.

Hard pan fairways and bumpy greens.
Course had great reviews. Clearly I hold course to a higher standard. If you can find a good deal maybe it’s worth it. Conditions were unsatisfactory.
Thank you for taking some time to leave us a review and some honest feedback. We had a very hard winter with over a dozen frosts between Christmas and March 1st. Combined with a high level of traffic, the course did indeed take some wear this year that it would not normally show. Our maintenance team is working hard to improve course conditions and now that the growing season here, the course is coming around nice. OUCH of a course!

Groups jumped a head, No starter.... Conditions were god awful, took over 3 hours to play front 9.
Could not take it any more and left.

Not in great shape
Was disappointed I. The inconsistency at this course. It was pretty chewed up and not ideal for serious golfers. Won't be back.not worth the drive or costs. Stopped at 15 as it wasn't fun anymore
