Indian River Preserve Golf Club

Although a little rough in areas some improvements are noticed. Very interesting layout. You have to make some key shots to do well.

We love this track...but not in the winter....fairways are lumpy, most of the greens seem to have several types of grass as they are dormant and they have spotty green areas of another type of grass. This criticism is probably because of winter conditions...but we won't play until late spring...hopefully they get a hold on it!

Course is not in good shape. Needs irrigation. Tee boxes and fairways dry and a lot of bare areas. Greens very dry and weeds, although mowed, are popping up. For the money, I don't plan to play again this year. Hopefully next year will see improvement.

Tightish, undulating greens that require your full attention.. Reasonable length fairway grass. Some holes remind me of Ko'olau on Oahu which was at the turn of the Millennium, had the highest slope rating in all of golf!

This course has had its up and downs. I've been playing it for 4 years now and it is currently in the best shape I've seen it. The greens are much better. They have done a lot of work on it and the improvements are obvious. If you are looking for a good mix of easy layout with some difficult holes along the way to test you, this course has a little something for you.

I play this course often. Employees are great. The course is experiencing typical FL winter conditions. The Bermuda grass is dormant and not as lush and green as most golfers expect. Player should be encouraged to fill their divots and fix ball marks on the greens so when the grass does begin to grown again it will fill in appropriately. I suggest opening the course to walkers only for 9 holes in the afternoons on certain days of the week. This could be cost saving to the course, Covid 19 friendly and reduce the number of hackers who should stay on the range until they can hit straight..

Good condition overall. Good variety of shots needed, greens in good shape.

For a course in a community this fell short of our expectations, although the club house was beautiful and the course layout was interesting the course conditions were poor (dry unkept fairways, slow greens, dirt cart paths. No wildlife to see. We won’t be coming back at any rate.

Some open fairways, some tight, some blind shots...a little bit of everything here. Challenging layout. Well maintained. Highly recommend the restaurant for after-round food...very good stuff.

The course is interesting and somewhat difficult, but not in great shape. There is a significant amount of home construction all around the course - noise is an issue.

Based on the amount of play today it seems unlikely that there is a consistent effort being made towards social distancing and mask were not present by some staff members. A lack of available carts required random golfers to double up - first course in FL that I have seen this and was unexpected.

The starter gave some "regulars" preferential treatment with a unscheduled tee time and we had a twosome hitting into our foursome (two foursomes in front of us).

Hoping this was just a bad day at Indian River Preserve.

I like this course, but was very disappointed in the dry conditions. Needs serious watering. All the fairways are bone dry. Greens aren’t too bad, running true. Pace was slow because of holiday tourists.

Great layout and amenities, looks like they’re getting the condition improvements underway. Ask for the $6 special: bucket of balls and lunch at the turn. Restaurant was great. Good pace of play, fun challenging course, if they can get the fairways in better shape it’ll be. 5 star. Will be back.

pretty sure the previous review was written by this courses owner...because Indian River Preserve formerly Walkabout ain’t nothin good to talk about...abominable conditions that even Obama would diss... no self respecting goat would even venture onto this course cause there ain’t no grass in the fairways other than crab to sustain ole billy.... greens very

“scratchy” slow with lotsa patches of crab grass as well....save your time and money and pass this
