Getting Better
Love this course but it has taken some hits regarding course condition. But, they have done a lot to improve it and if they continue, it would be a top five in central Florida.
Pace and condition of the course sucked!
Greens were bumpy and very slow. Fairways were also very bumpy. We were behind a threesome that took forever on every green and had a full hole open in front of them the whole time. When we asked to play through they said no. No ranger on the course at all. This place used to have nice greens, but the have let them go to pot. Very thin grass on them and kind of sandy.

Course is a little wet, but still playable. Overall good, enjoyed the lunch also !! When course dries out, should be excellent!!
Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We are happy to see you enjoyed our course. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back in the future.
gfront 9 ok, back nine a beautiful beast
most of the front nine was just so-so, but starting at #9 for the rest of the golf course the holes were very difficult but awesome. I would definitely play this course again. #13 & 15 are REALLY difficult. Especially 13. wow. There was nobody out there and my friend and I played it twice and triple bogeyed it both times. And I'm a 12 handicap.
Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We are happy to see you enjoyed our course. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back in the future.
Just OK
The coarse is a fun track to play. But everything is a little wet and soggy due to all.of.the rain
The staff is friendly and the club house is nice. For the price , it's worth the time to drive over
Thank you so much for your review! We are glad to hear you enjoy our course and wonderful staff. We look forward to having you back in the future.
Very soggy after rain
My first time playing this course, I probably won't play again. I played following aeration and a week of rainy weather, so conditions were poor. Cart paths are all dirt which made for a very bumpy ride with lots of ruts. Many areas don't drain well so standing water was a problem. Greens were OK, but aeration made for bumpy putts. Sand traps are filled with some kind of dirt, not sand, which compacts even more after rain. I enjoyed the variety and character of the layout.
Mr. Jones,
Thank you for taking the time to offer us some feedback. As you stated, the course has been VERY wet. We have had over 12 inches of rain in the last two weeks. Unfortunately, this does lead to less than perfect conditions. As soon as the rain stops all of the paths get graded, the bunkers raked and cleaned up, and the mowers get back out and smooth everything up. Once the weather breaks, please give us another shot and I think you will find the conditions much improved.
Thank you for your review! We would love the opportunity to speak with you further to learn how we can gain those additional stars and improve your next experience at the course. Please feel free to reach out to info@indianriverpreservegolfclub.com to continue the discussion. Thank you!
Course Is Not Finished
This course seems like it is either not finished or it is deteriorating. Course lay out is challenging. But no map of the holes on the scorecard or on the yardage signs. So sometimes you have to guess where the fairway is. The driving range is just an under construction lot. Some of the bunkers are eroding. And there is standing water in some of the fairways and some of the bunkers. Looks like they are trying to build a community around an 85% complete golf course.

Need work
The people, restaurant and layout for this course are top notch. Unfortunately, the playing condition need work. Maybe it's the summer heat, but there are large areas of dead or no grass on the course. Even the greens are spotty and running slow, due to the longer cut of the grass. It is a wonderful layout, bu tI cannot give it my highest recommendation because of the spotty conditions, Maybe they'll have it worked out by the spring.

Great Course
Typical summertime turf conditions. Love the challenging topography. Fun course for my wife and me. Good value for the $$. Will play again soon.

worth the drive
45 minutes for me, nice, quiet, woodsy, lots o' water. Looks like some punching of fairways and chem application on some fairways this time 'round. Still very playable, I'll be back.
Thanks for your review! It's great to hear you enjoyed the course. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back again soon.

A little rough
Staff was friendly and offered us tips regarding the course. First couple of fairways had been pua chef and rough. The greens were in decent shape.

Coming back or failing?
First I’d like to say that the track layout is not horrible, however the mismanagement of the facility is disappointing.
Has the watering system broken? Under construction? Waiting for God to take care of the watering?
This course is DRY... tee boxes are brown and cracking, the deep tees on 9 look abandoned.
The greens on several holes were not cut around the edges, just straight cuts raised before getting to the edge.
I guess I received what i paid for on a hot deal from GN, but I’d come back and play if Billy Casper management improves the facility.
Stopped in to the restaurant for a bite at the turn and nothing was available for a quick takeaway.
Please respond and give us a plan, because you need one to get this course back into shape....
Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. The input of our guests is very important to us as we constantly work to improve the golf course.
In response to some of your questions;
The course is a bit dry due to no rain and high temps for the last week, however the brown you see out there is actually due to a full course herbicide application that went out for nutsedge. That is a tough weed to knock back and the product is strong, so when it goes out the course does tend to look "dried out" for 3 to 5 days. However, the nightly irrigation and hopefully a bit of rain in the near future will have it green again and the thin areas will fill in quickly. We usually follow these herbicide apps up with a round of fertilizer to help that process along.
The back tees on 9 actually are in the process of being abandoned. That area will just barely fall into the property line of one of the new homes that will go up in the future. Over the weekend, a golfer actually moved a set of tee markers back there for a period of time before we caught on.
The greens cut you are describing is lacking what we call a "clean up lap." The greens get cut in straight lines and then at the end the operator is supposed to go around the edge with a lap in order to get the areas they couldn't get with the straight lines. We will discuss that with the superintendent as that is normally done, but it seems it was not on the day of your visit. That could be due to an equipment breakdown or an employee call off that day, but leaving that undone is definitely not intentional and will be looked into.
As for the restaurant, we chose to take the approach to make everything to order in order to make sure the quality of the food is always high. However, that does result in the drawback of not having anything ready for a grab and go. We carry snacks in the pro shop and we do advise our golfers to call in to go orders at the turn. We apologize for the inconvenience of this and hope we can better meet your needs in the future.
Overall, the course should bounce back from the herbicide very quickly. We know it makes the course appear a little rough around the edges when the application first goes down, but in the long run it will actually improve the conditions. A little bit of time and perhaps a good rainfall or two and everything will be green and have healed up.
Once again, thank you for your honest feedback and we hope to see you back in the future.
