Greens were not good. Bare spots, rough areas. Need a lot of work. Tee boxes okay, but second cut on fairways not the greatest. Bermuda was too deep for recreational golfers. Had to walk directly over you ball to see it. Really tough to hit out of it.

If you like a golf course that provides a challenge at a good price then this might be the course for you

Overall nice course. Lots of undulations on the fairways. Never had so many lies with the ball above or below my feet. I enjoyed the variety of shots required to excel here. My big complaint was having to wait 5-10 minutes on every hole, but two because of slow play. Course was completely backed up for at least three groups ahead. This is unacceptable. The course was well maintained except for a few scabby areas on some greens and fairways. Also, more water stations would be nice.

I hadn’t been since the beginning of the year when the conditions were unplayable. They are much better but course never dries out so it’s always wet, most of my drives plugged in the fairway. Greens were very slow and bumpy so that wasn’t very fun. Back nine is too difficult for the older folks who play here so pace of play always grinds to a halt on the back nine. I would only return if I new it hadn’t rained in a month and they promised to cut and roll the greens. Also you can’t have weeds in the greens. I do like the layout but again it’s too difficult for the average golfer.

We tried Red Tail today for the first time. I found the course to be challenging but fair. Fortunately the pro shop staffer warned us about 3 holes that are blind tee shots. There are several risk-reward shot options. The greens were fine. I can see that the course has difficulty with drainage after rains as we saw several wet areas in fairways despite the lack of rain for the last 6 days. So I would not play here after a recent rain. But should be great during the winter when rain recedes. I would also suggest a couple of signs to help golfers find the next hole. I believe that one is needed to find #16 if I recall correctly.

The course doesn’t drain well so many areas off the fairways were under water witch made me lose a few balls.. other then that the course was in great condition except the 18th green.

I play this course today and I enjoy it...fairways, greens (except #18) and maintance are awesone. Beautifully course.

Had a great time not too many people in front of us. Pace of play was excellent, greens were not as fast as its been in the past, but it was not bad! will definitely come back!!

I have always enjoyed the beauty and the layout of Red tail Golf Course. The staff at Red tail are great people and I have always enjoyed dealing with them. Approximately 4 months ago it was heartbreaking their greens were destroyed by a fungus, that being said I played there three days ago and they are back and I am absolutely thrilled because they are a great Golf Course kudos to the staff and maintenance workers that brought it back.

This is my second time playing this course. First time was around 5 years ago and I've always looked forward to returning. The course is in really good condition and heading for an "excellent" rating as soon as the obvious ongoing repairs and improvements have been completed. Some soggy fairways here and there, because of all the rain, so using the cart path is highly recommended, and there are signs all over the fairways to remind you. If you've never played this course before or haven't in a long time, just remember to bring your "A" game and a few extra balls. This is a shot-maker's course. Lots of water, tight and undulating fairways and other challenges make this a FUN course to play. To top off the fun, the greens are in great shape, even though they've been punched. This course is worth every minute and mile of the drive to get there. Will be back!
