Eagle Dunes Golf Club
About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Fire the superintendent ?
They lost all of their greens. Sad to see as for years the greens at Eagle Dunes were always some of the best in the county are now the worst. Fire the superintendent ASAP !!
Always bumpy and lumpy.. but fun.
The course has always been hard and bumpy. The saving grace were the smooth and speedy greens. Not any more.
IDK what's going on but I've never seen the greens like this. What's there is fast. But then there are large, sick looking patches and a gazzilion quarter sized poa annua spots that the ball bounces off, even on short putts.
Great layout, wide open, with cool elevation changes. They just need to grow healthy grass on it.
Sub par golf course
The course is really badly maintained. Fairways are fairly dry and the Queens are not good at all. I played only nine holes so I can only talk about the front nine. I wouldn't go back it's not worth the money.
Heartbreaking
I have played Eagle Dunes for over 20 years and have considered it one of my favorite courses. The greens were the best in the area. Even when they lost their fairways the greens remained smooth. Now, I am sad to say, the greens are in horrendous condition . They have many bare spots and lots of crab grass that make putting a nightmare. No two greens were the same speed. The fairways were just ok. Sorry Eagle Dunes, you have lost one of your fans.
What a shame!
Played this course lots of times. Used to have some of the best greens in Orlando. Now they are full of poa. Also the fairways are getting sparse. Won’t be back any time soon.
Terrible Greens
The bumps had bumps. The waste areas were.a combination of ashtray sand with humongous tire tracks in them. $18 a round with a cart is all this is worth. Everything is burned out. Not a course to play if you are on vacation. Will watch the reviews over the years to see if it gets any better. Anyone that is a good review here can’t break 100 on a course with a 4+ review.
Course conditions are not improving
I've played this course more times than I can remember. The last round saw thin fairways and areas that have no grass. We played winter rules. Generally the greens have always been pretty good, but this time we noticed weeds and the green surfaces were bumpy. There is no way this course is worth the $63 green fee inc taxes. My playing partner and I vowed not to return until improvements are made to the course. Disappointed...
Needs work
We really like the layout of this course. It's challenging with its hills, sand traps and "holes". But the greens seemed to be nothing but sand with green spray fertilizer. Some were just as stated; whereas; others had small tuffs of grass growing. On these, it was like you were in a giant arcade game being bounced from one tuff to another. We probably will never go back, which is a shame. We really liked the challenging layout;
Canada
Well, coming from a other country to play golf. THIS COURSE IS TERRIBLE CLOSE IT. For the money and play in a sand box. I can't believe they take pride for this course fairways 0 geens neglect a 0
Close it get back spend some money then reopen.
Course is average.
Course needs attention. Bought into a Golf Now hot deal which made round worthwhile. Staff was very friendly and accomodating ..
Won’t be back
Decent tee boxes
Greens horrendous, minimal grass, lots of weeds
Fairways horrible, always hitting off bare ground
4:46 to play 18 holes. Been in Florida since Jan. 1, slowest round of the season.
Value can’t compare to Willowbrook or Zellwood Station.
Not up to my expectations.
Overall course conditions were obviously lacking maintenance. Needs a lot of improvement for me to give it another chance.
Eagle Dunes is a dead course walking.
Thank you to all the staff who could care less about anything but a paycheck.
A great course 20 years ago, as compared to the total overpriced dump it is today.
Shame on the any/all staff for letting this happen.
Would Never return.
This course is a disaster.
