Eagle Dunes Golf Club
About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Decent for the price
Even though the course is in rough shape (weeds, sandy patches, etc), they offer competitive pricing and the views/layout of the course are tough to beat in FL. The round here can be enjoyable and the staff are really, just don't expect the course conditions to be great and it'll still feel worth a visit.
Not worth the time or money
Played here a few times before and always enjoyed the rounds. Unfortunately not this time. The course is badly in need of repair. The greens are terrible, burned out, bumpy and just difficult to putt on.
It’s a shame it’s gone down so far!
nice layout terrible condition
The greens are terrible… patches of grass with green sand in between … no maintenance at all to the waste bunkers and the sand traps… they don’t even provide rakes for the traps… very disappointing… don’t waste your time and money.
Greens Need Some Attention
Great course and location. The greens are in need of some attention. Weeds have grown into the greens and there were bare spots that would cause the ball to jump and misdirect. Two months ago the greens were in much better condition. Could use a couple real bathrooms on the course; one on the front and one on the back nine would work out well.
Working on Greens?
I like this course, and usually the greens are in good shape, but currently not. I hope they're working on them and they'll be back in shape soon.
Tee boxes were bare and beat up. Fairways had little grass on them and greens are worse.
Goat Track
It appears that Eagle Dunes is emulating Redtail. Just awlful greens, which used to be the course’s strong point.
Save your money.
What a great layout. Nice clubhouse. Decent food and prices, nothing fancy. The greens had problems. Lots of algea. Only 6 good ones.. That time of year. But you should still try it.
Disappointed
Course has gone downhill over the last 2 years. Fairways were poor to fair. Greens were very bad. Bumpy, crab grass growing intermittently. This is such a nice layout and used to be a lot of fun. Hot deal was $54. Not worth it.
Enjoyed the round.
Great layout, lots of sand and while condition was a little rough it was a great value.
Greens are worse than bad
Most reviews are harsher than actual conditions. Not this course. The greens are TERRIBLE. Putts hop all over the place. Cannot judge pace because the balls hop. 2 footers deflect off patches of poa and miss the cup completely. There's barely any grass on the greens and where there's growth, it's poa patches. Not 3 or 4 foot circular areas of complete poa...more like silver dollar sized poa patches all over the greens.
Atrocious
i’ve been playing this course for years it’s been on the steady decline yesterday. Decided to play a quick nine and it was absolutely atrocious. Greens had overgrown weeds on it and chunks taken out of it as well as beat up boxes. It makes WedgeWood look like an Augusta.
Michael your review is worthless, 100% false and deceptively misleading. Further the review makes a mockery of patrons that read reviews looking for useful and truthful course conditions. Shame on you. In truth, this course is in the worst condition of any course I have ever seen - by far.
