Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Greens are Better
I have played this course a lot the greens used to be the best around something happened to them last year they are better but still need time to be as good as they used to be. The rest of the course is ok.
Course conditions were terrible throughout. Would give the course zero stars if possible. Should not be on your list. Was thoroughly embarrassed to have taken an out-of-town friend (a very good player) who was in town for a week of golf. I will not be going back.

i've played Black bear and Mount Dora golf club this week. This course is by far the best of the three.
Needs work
I was excited to play after reading the most recent reviews. Unfortunately the course is in rough shape. Yea the greens are quick but a lot of scattered winter weeds in the greens which creates bumps and inconsistent speeds. Fairways are nonexistent. Tee boxes are rough. It’s a cool layout but needs alot of work. Course will be removed from our rotation.
Washouts
Off the fairways and off the tee boxes lots of bumps and washouts.
Bare Fairways, Sloooww
The pace was absolutely horrendous. No ranger, groups holes behind the groups in front. Several times we had 3 groups on a hole. The tee boxes and fairways are bare. Greens were fast due to no grass. Hopefully this course recovers for the summer. Won’t be back till then.

Greens good. Putting fast. Some starting to get an invasive grass. Worth the money if a hot deal.
Coulod use some work !
Tee boxes were very rough, fairways thin, and greens fast and challenging but need help with better grass.
Decent Course
Eagle Dunes has got character. Great layout with many elevation changes, oversized bunkers and water hazards. We did not see any eagles but lots of sand bunkers. A more fitting name will Sand Dunes. The pace of play was steady - finished in 4 hours and 10mins.
The staff are courteous and helpful.
The mostly oversized greens are in good shape and lightining fast. The fairways are fairly decent but many areas are bare and rough - saddle up for some rough ride!
For the most part the tee boxes are nice and flat and in fairly good shape.
Overall, we found this course to be enjoyable and offered good value for money. We will certainly play it again especially on Golfnow Hot Deal.
NEEDS WORK
IVE PLAYED THIS COURSE MANY TIMES GREENS ARE ALMOST PERFECT BUT THE FAIRWAYS HAVE MANY POT HOLES LAYOUT IS GOOD JUST BRING A PILLOW TO SIT ON
Great greens
I really enjoyed the layout of the course and the fast speed of the greens. So fast especially the downhill putts. So fun! Just like on TV. Great value and excellent pace of play if you go early in AM. Worth the almost hour long trip from Orlando
Always a fun track...
but they could have used a ranger. Two groups ahead of us was a five-some, and the four-some directly ahead of us were slower than them! I get it - new golfers - hit a lot of shots...but it gets frustrating waiting all the time.
Greens are VERY fast but very consistent.
