Eagle Dunes Golf Club
About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Eagle Dunes 6/2/2018 Photo submitted by allennoell on 06/09/2018
Improving a lot!
The course continues to improve, and seems to be on his way back to its glory again. Greens are not quick, but are very consistent and in great shape. Fairways and tee boxes are also much improved. The course has bounced well since the hurricane. Nice to see the old eagle dunes is almost back.
Greens are in great condition
Nice staff-cashier and starter friendly and helpful.
Excellent
Greens have come back nicely with all the rain, rolling true. Love the layout and brand new golf carts. Slightly slow on the Saturday morning we played but expected. Great value!
Improving
Course was in much better shape than 2 months ago. The hurricane left a lake by holes 4-6 where the waste bunker was down the left side of the holes. Actually looks much better and more challenging. Overall, greens and fairways are in good shape
Worth it
The course layout and conditions are in good shape however the rough is tough so keep it in the fairway. The greens were good and fast.
Still a Goat Track
Not sure what other reviewers saw and experienced, but the majority of them are inaccurate as to course conditions. The greens have improved marginally, the fairways are bad to terrible and the traps had more grass growing in them than sand.
The only places worth playing in the area are Country Club of Mount Dora and Deer Island.
Roger and Staffy, appreciate your candor and support as to my review of this course. Not sure what other golfers (?) are looking at.
Rule #1 - don't trust a single comment from anyone without a proper user name, so will be ignoring the "correction" from

Finally, a truthful review from someone with a moral compass.
The rest are just sheep, trying to keep this awful place alive.
It's honestly, one of the top 5 worst places in Central Florida.
Just awful.
Perfect, if you don't know the difference between good golf and a taco though...
Smh at the idiotic reviews of this terrible place.
Not sure where Jay is playing. Other reviews are accurate. Greens and fairways in good shape. Rough is pretty thick. All in all, a very good deal.
Disappointed
I actually booked after reading a positive post on Orlando golf network. Even my friend who went there with me bragged about this place on the way there.
The rough was long, green's were in rough, and a few bunkers needed some TLC.
outstanding
First time at this course and it is at least 50 minutes away but the Wekiva parkway makes it not so far....great variety of holes, elevation changes, little water, really open feel and new carts...worth checking out no matter how far away you are... I plan to play here at least 4 times a year and I live in Chuluota
Great Experience
Most of the courses in Central Florida are rebuilding because of weather, bugs and aeration (it's just that time of year). I've played several of what many say are the best courses in the area over the last few weeks. Eagle Dunes is by far in the best overall shape. With all of the work they are putting into the place I believe it's just going to get better. Great play, great value, very satisfied!
The course is in very good shape. New golf carts, friendly staff. We liked playing the hybrid tees. 5499 yes. Teed off from both white and blue tees. Great for someone over 65.
Improved
The course conditions have improved greatly making it an additional course to play after previously removing it from my list.
Another member review for sure.
If not, they need an eye exam and some truth serum
The course is and has been a disaster for 10 years and counting.
Truth.
